Wrong. Kashmir was an independent country, and Pakistan tried to occupy it. India marched in AFTER a third was occupied by Pashtun raiders. The rest of Kashmir decided to join India. You didn't snatch it away from us, you just occupied what was then a sovereign country. And you never got half.

The war was started by Pakistan to capture Kashmir. Pak did not capture Kashmir, but ended up defending Lahore. No territorial changes. India's aims of keeping India's territory was achieved. Pak's aim of capturing Indian Kashmir was defeated. Guess what they call that result?

Part you have borders with Afghanistan there you were successful to cut us from rest of the Euro_asia. But then we used it to defame Pakistan by diplomacy and now we have good hold in Afghanistan and Tajik. Can keep an eye on you.

That part has high peaks facing us, for you it became comparatively easier to move forward but in 82 we realized that Siachin could play a better strategic role and is the major source of water to Pak. So we climbed from our side and now we are on top.
