The reason I started this was because I saw a thread about the 'greatest generals of the world' seeing so many Indian members listed those 'unknown' Indian names. but I dont know their 'history' so cant say anythin.

so here is my list of my all-time-favorite generals: (according to time span)

What a name! I blame his parents for his death

My all time fav has got to be Cao Cao. He was often depicted as the villain but personally I think he is a genius. Given his circumstances I think he did the right thing most of the time.

I normally rank 卫青 above 霍去病. Being a general is more than simply leading troops into battle, but also balance politics and relations between peers. Huo Qubing got into conflict with other nobles way too easily. Perhaps it was his young age and he would have gotten better over time, but we will never know since he died young.

班超 is my favourite.
