Dinesh Trivedi sure tried to save this white elephant. note that, Indian Railways is now making losses in the tunes of 1000s of crore ₹s from past 4 years IIRC. The regional political party is arm twisting central government and revised railway budget price hike.

I would love to See Uttar Pradesh,Bihar,W.Bengal and near by states go under a separate railway corporation. Let us See if Indian Railway will benefit from that.

It will happen soon. They already killed the North South express highway project which would have been much more useful than the HSR.

Expressway would been better but if HSR will be based on Viaducts then no issue with having HSR as it will save space and will cause less pollution.
