We are not different from any other countries with intensive R and D investments, some are aiming at foundamental researches to reveal scientific mysteries, others are more mature and have developed or aim to develop into commercial applications like TD-LTE technology, thorium reactors, quantum communications, "invisible cloak" technology, Flu vaccines, stem cells researches, the lightest material ..etc

The patents, the U.S. is number one and second is Japan. What really count is how popular, important and breakthrough that patent is. U.S. has more than double the patents of China, but you do not see they boast about any of these when the patents/ inventions are not ready to commercialize.

What I see with Chinese is different, there a lot of articles tend to exaggerator of their inventions even though their inventions have not been put in practical use yet.

For example, Smart phone from U.S., is consider one of the most useful invention in this century.

Lifi, there is long way it will be put in practical use, and no guarantee it will replace Wifi like it been boasting. It is good if China invent something but exaggerate and associate with extreme nationalism is not a Go.

I understand the Chinese wanted the western world to recognize it, instead of looking down and laugh on it, but boasting and exaggerating aint the way to earn respect and recognition.

Tianhe II wasnt installed with domestic CPUs but it was installed with other domestic components like the connectors. Why do you have to repeat the same diatribes again. It is just silly.

If you call a sparc chip a CPU, then you need to call all APU/PowerPC chip and etc CPU

Actually I stand corrected, FT1500 is actually not Chinese production at all, indeed they were made in china but FT1500 is a sparc chip that have register trademarked by Sun microprocessor

Would you call an chinese made intel trademarked ivy bridge processor a Chinese processor??

However I see the speed may get bigger when they go micro with the technology, as WiFi's increasing through micro. But, I don't think they can block the light as the light is the source of the connectivity and hence the technology will be overshadowed by WiFi all the time. People making claims that it will change how connectivity will be in the future are either Nostradamus or very simple.

Unless this problem is solved, Li-fi is not going anywhere

Also, for speed concern, the latest 802.11ac gave 1.3Gbps vs Li-Fi's 150Mbps

First second or third world has no bearing to the scientific works. If it is from China it is from China; or if if is from Pakistan then credit to the Pakistani scientists. Credit when due.

The vid (through the scientists) never said the tech is going to replace wifi but it is offering a good alternative to wifi connection
