Some kind of confusion here.Two different terrorist with same name and nick.

LAHORE: Arrangements were made to execute another convicted terrorist, Ikramul Haq alias Akram Lahori, the co-founder of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, at Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail.

The one pardoned by the victims family is Ikramul Haq also nick named Akram Lahori

The counsel and brother of Ikramul Haq reached outside the jail hours before the hanging. They said Akram Lahori is someone else, adding there is only one murder case against Ikramul Haq.

Not sure whats going on here. if the real one is still being hanged or ?

this is all the farce.

the military couldnt even keep Adnan Rashid in its own lock up , which resulted in the Civilians to arrange for his escape from DI Khan (or Bannu) Jail break. they are all going to haunt Pakistanis for long time to come.
when you have Fazlu protesting on the street
and Raza Rabbani crying in the assembly
and the judges bailing the terrorists
and suspending the hanging orders

then you are only left to cringe and hurt yourself from inside.

This could be a plausible reason.

Since the LeJ Akram Lahori would surely not be having one murder case against him and the plaintiff in his case would be the state.

But on the flip side, I think this is hogwash. How can you mix up names on death warrant FFS? Isn't there a Father's name alongside in every official document?

He wasn't involved in one case only, there were around 50 or so murders to his name...

And I also have doubts over the circumstances in which he was pardoned. Can't rule out the pressurization of the victims' family.

Not 50 but 80 murders. Please don't belittle his "hard work".

And it is a shame that he hasn't been hanged.

the guy to be executed was Ikram Ul Haq Lahore of Shorekot .. NOT Akram Lahori (he like I said is very precious like co founder of LeJ Malik Ishaq).

Sheikh Waqas Akram has very nicely explained the background and details about the "compromise" and the mistake of the media by referring to wrong guy.

He explains how the fear of state's capital punishment has compelled the people who call Shias Kafir to go on foot to their Dera's and request Pardon to save that guy's execution and they reached a compromise since both parties had killed each other's people there was about 9 Million payment involved as well.
the point Waqas made was if the case is of terrorism then its the prerogative of the State to punish or forgive the convict, its no longer up to the grieved family members to pardon the convict. but since section 302 as applied on the murder so the judge can take a view to grant pardon.

its a wrong precedence because this way all terrorists can buy their way out of the capital punishment. according to Waqas words... the fear of hanging will bring these terrorist thugs down to their knees he is very much up for the capital punishment and I am sure he wont have voted in favor of the amendment just to appease Mian Sahib.,

wish Mian Sahib pays some attention to this back bencher.. not just because he is saying something I like but he spoke very well and meant it.

Well this was expected. But a firm stand a this point of time will go a long way in instilling fear of state in the minds of terrorists.

A mass murderer can not be forgiven by a victim's family or, some dera. This will be a dangerous precedent. Hang them now when they are shivering with fear. A step back now will only embolden them to butcher more.

I have a query. Now, there is an ordinance that these terrorists are going to be tried in the military court. Can these guys then pay money as blood money and get out? Or is it that since its a military court this will not be applied and hence there is a chance they will hang?

State vs terrorist the victim in this case is state, so no blood money can be paid to state even in civil courts.
