In a political culture steeped with lackadaisical attitude on all sides where irresponsibility rules the roost trying to pass an incident as a result of 'minority vote bank politics' is dumb and stupid. Every politician in every party line irrespective of vote bank or constituency is bringing disrepute to our country.

But are you talking about a defence briefing that affects the nation? Was BJP in power for this?

The party has taken action against those who go against their principle. Remind me when Diggy Raja is sacked.

Tru politicians tend to behave the same, but there is a limit and that limit has to be respected no matter what.

The motto of the Karnataka assembly is 'Govt Work is God's WOrk'. Every single public responsibility is equally important. I think Raj Babbar should be sacked, so should the jokers in Kar and Gujarat. All Kar MLAs have been saved, so your claims are flase (probably coz of the pot you smoked last night).

Exactly. People you mention are Heroes of India but not of the muslim communities at large. For them, Dawood, Raj Babbar and Azam Khan are bigger heroes.

Raj Babbar as a well know muslim MP chose to be chairman of the Parliament committee on Defense. Only a bigot will try to equate his anti-national activity of diluting serious defense matters to a MLA watching **** in the state assembly.

Politicians who indulge in 'minority vote bank politics' have additional burden to prove that their minority appeasement tactics do not bring further instability to India. You don't want that additional burden ? then stop playing minority vote bank politics.

I agree. The key point here is how such an important issue is actually being dealt with by people who have been given the responsibility of holding such positions. Anything else is simple a red herring, religion of the people involved has no relevance here.

Do you mean to claim that anyone who plays minority vote bank politics and become one of the leader of that community has no need to act responsibly and set standards for his followers ?

What message does a muslim leader send out to other Hindus and muslims when he is dismissive or critical security details of India against a muslim nation pakistan ?

@Bang Galore Oh this is just a grand continuation of the tradition of ignoring security matters by our elected representatives. A grand and old tradition indeed. From Cabinet committees to the MOD, in the case of the latter it only ever functioned adequately under Jaswant Singh. The cabinet committees on the other hand have always been largely dismissive of their mandates, not to mention poorly placed within the matrix of authority.

I am quite surprised with reactions of some of the members who can only see religion of the MPs but who fail to understand significance of this news and implications for country !

If this is how parliament is going to work and handle such sensitive issue then it is serious failure of our democracy.

Why none of the members of standing committee opposed this move by Raj babbar ?

why members of other parties who are represented in Parliament committee didn't speak up ?

That is the most important question to ask .

Our Parties and Parliamentarians have become so crass and low level that for them the important defense briefing is less important that catching flights ....


Those who are trying to blame congress....This parliamentary committee is mini parliament .....why members of other parties ...including that of BJP did not stall Raj Babbar's move ???

On the other hand given the direction of arguments within our Indian PDF members I am not surprised why we have such low level MPs in parliament ....we deserve them ...!!!
