Learn urdu for beginners

Zindagie khubsurat Hay ;)

a "ho" ending ? not sure I completely follow, and it's a bit complicated so not sure I'll be able to break it down accurately but "ho" means many things..here's a few examples:

there's an indian pop song "jai ho" .. in which case "ho" is just sort of a reverent cheer thing translating to "let there be"

ho gaya.. it happened

ho-naye wala hai.. it's going to happen

jo ho gaya so ho gaya.. whatever happened, let it be

allah ho akbar.. at least that's how they say it around here, translating to afaik: may god be victoriouis

that probably didn't help, right ? sorry

hopefully someone can explain it better, languages are tricky things sometimes.. spl our asian ones :cheesy:

Awesome, my man ! Thanks.

I can't speak Urdu... I want to learn how to speak Urdu, which book do you recommend for beginners?

I am not interested to learn how to read and write Urdu.. just verbally

This is a common problem in UK. Unless Urdu is your mother tongue most just learn the basic household language and then English takes over so you end up with very poor to no Urdu. It can be most embarrasing in particular amongst a certain class who think Urdu is the definition of high civilization ......
