Good to see some action from the Tejas stable. It's been worrying quiet there recently. These photos in from last month's LCA Tejas LSP-7 in weapons trials in Jamnagar, Gujarat, where she dropped some bombs, fired an R-73 and was generally bad-***. Umm. Sort of.

Meanwhile, the Defence Minister told Parliament this month: "Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) have been asked to strictly adhere to the planned schedules for Initial Operational Clearance (IOC-2) by end of 2013 and Final Operational Clearance (FOC) by end of 2014 to ensure timely induction of Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) in the Indian Air Force (IAF). Tejas is likely to be inducted in the Indian Air Force soon after the Initial Operational Clearance (IOC-2)."

I would count Shiv Aroor as way too jingoistic to be a good reporter.

Shiv Aroor is NOT one India's best defence journalists; he is not even a defence journalist.
He is just a "hack" journo who happens to be employed by one of India' major TV news channels. Which just displays their extremely poor judgement. Otherwise, he is just a "over-grown schoolboy" who happens to be in journalism.
Please do not give defence journalism a bad name by associating him with it.

One defence journalist who knows what hes talking about is Nitin Gokhale of NDTV; understated as he is. Even Vishnu Shome is far more credible as a journalist.
