What is so hard to understand

Naval variant was NOT an absolute necessity

It was an R & D project to see how much we can push the plane

What is the harm in doing your own R & D

And Air Force is looking for another single engined fighter
because we have a very large Number of planes to replace

If your PAF has to replace 190 ; then Imagine Ours being more than
Three Time larger Air force;
we have how much replacement to do

And above all these Foreign players Bring a Lot more than Just weapons

It is about Technology and Investment and High tech manufacturing at Home
GOOD JOBS for Indians

The LCA Mk 2 is some years away

And by bringing in Private sector to manufacture planes
we can replace them quicker

HAL which makes Tejas is A Govt company ; it works at its own pace

Both the navy and airforce had a need and desire to induct a working LCA

The induct date was years ago but the Tejas turned out to be a lemon.
DRDO and the other clowns also fukced it up in a major way.

So what was supposed to be inducted about 2 decades ago kept getting pushed back and back

So then the plane was supposed to be ready by 2005 (nope fail)

Then by 2008 (nope still a flop, fail)

Them by 2011 (still nope, still a flop)

Ok ok then by 2014 (whaaat still not, what a flop)


Finally 2016 (but plane is still not good enough you only have about 3 and this particular model is not good and rejected and your actual LCA will be or might be ready in a few years)

In the meantime your navy and airforce have been waiting decadez for this lemon to be fixed of its faults, but to no avail.



Your navy has now realised that its not good enough and refuses to induct.


Your airforce may indeed have numerous planes to replace but ONLY because the Tejas has been so poor and delayed so much, the plane they wanted to induct two decades ago is STILL not ready


So there you have it
Rejected by the navy
Airforce forced to buy a foreign single engine fighter simply because Tejas still has a few years to go, has shortcomings and the need to replace old jets is immense

Here's a wake up call, in an exercise between JF-17 and an aircraft similar to the Indian SU-30, the JF-17 due to it's small size was able to detect the heavier opponent first, launch missiles and break off.... period.

LOL ; you exercised JF 17 with J 11 which is Inferior to Su 30 MKI

Su 30 MKI BARS Radar will detect JF 17 Much earlier

And the Powerful jammers on the MKI will not allow your JF 17 to get a Radar lock

What missile will you launch then

Next step is to Get into a merge ; That too with the MKI

Pakistani pilots know the F16 inside out, we have flown it for 30 years have all support staff trained, weapons ready and combat doctrines worked out.

The JF17S are being inducted at a steady pace but our 5th gen option whether J31 or TFX is between 5 and 10 years away (J31 may be inducted early like Jf17 where we fly it, work out the comvat doctrines and it improves as it goes along)

But until then we can induct JF17S at their own pace but second hand F16s with still a good amount of life in them give us a immediate boost with a plane we know extremely well, it fills the gap until we get our 5th gen option

we have the expertise and confidence to start AMCA programme

stephen mentioned above that su-30 will probably lock jf-17 before it can lock su-30.that's true but you forget one thing.what if su-30 face jf-17 block 3? block 3 will have AESA radar and i think you know about AESA.it can jam your radar signal even before detection. india should upgrade their obsolete su-30 now lol.

dude i know about chinese loans but let me tell you,if we implement this CPEC,we will get lots of money in near future and it's not a joke.i see more fighter jets coming in next 3 to 4 years.

We didn't want to stand around holding our dicks like the indians

We knew that the jet was good (we were lucky see LCA)

We inducted early

Now our pilots have had a decade of experience and worked out the majority of our combat doctrines as the plane gets better and better

And we've bagged two export orders

The block 3 will be lethal and as our work horse fighter superb


Whilst you wait till the LCA can jump into hyperspace and your pilots just started practising on your 3 plane squadron

It has Not screwed up anything
