The long term U.S plan is now working very effectively through U.S success to Influence on Indian policies for use of India as U.S Military Dog against China, the want the large portion in Indian Markets and huge Indian Arms purchasing list, The NAMO govt. is working only for short term success against its Neighbours this strategy will work only for short term because U.S policies are changed according to Only U.S National Interests.
Since Pakistan is a security state and its leaders ,I mean generals, sell themselves to highest bidder does not mean that everyone does. Probably , if they have not whøred Pakistan so shamelessly (rather demanded concrete benefits than bribe/handout/eFF-Sollah) Pakistan would not have ended up in the horrible situation it is in. None of US allies have suffered as much as Pakistan has suffered from an alliance with USA. Most have thrived.
India is improving ties with USA as our Economy (and theirs too) benefit from close ties with USA as they are our biggest customers. Good ties means that the business that would be going to China or Vietnam would be lapped up by India, as long as India offers competitive rates. India is pushing hard to grow its private aerospace sector, and an alliance with USA means that Indian companies would be integrated into supply chain of US MIC ( lot of companies already are) thus boosting high-end manufacturing in India.
You people need to rise above your military centric thinking to even recognize that long game India is playing (in which you suck), ie that of improving economic muscle. If you are economically strong ,and has an intelligent enough population to excel in S&T (which India does), you could very easily attain military supremacy.
Our foreign office, by which I mean the professional civil servants who actually run the country, not the buffonish window dressing called "politicians" have managed to stay on top of this. It is a fact that no one in the diplomatic community saw this coming and most certainly not the "stay in its fortress embassy except for the ride to and from the airport" US contingent.
I don't think anyone realistically expects us to get in (in a world that makes sense, Pakistan, India and Israel should all be members, but this world does not make sense); but we can certainly help in putting blocks towards India and worst case even if we don't we can get enough of a justification to get suppliers who are well inclined to use to trade with us bilaterally.
Why blame politicians when your FP is run by Gernails?
BTW has anyone noticed that OP's headline is just "mungerilal ke hassen sapne".
