I have posted many times before that we can have one hundred operations called Radd ul Fassaad, Khyber or whatever; unless mind-set of the people is changed terrorism from Pakistan will not be eliminated. For example, there are Quranic verses against suicide and also:
“A group of prominent religious scholars in Pakistan has issued a fatwa against suicide attacks, armed insurgency, and the use of force with the aim of imposing Shari'a law.
The fatwa, or religious decree, was issued in Islamabad on May 27 and was signed by 31 noted Islamic scholars at an event organized by the Islamic Research Institute of the International Islamic University.”

TTP / Lej easily find naïve Pakistani youth to blow themselves up thinking that they doing Allah’s work. In practice they are not following our holy Prophet’s (PBUH) but instead the interpretation of Islam by Syed Qutub of Egypt.
There is a direct “cause & effect” relationship. Arguably, there were other factors such as Soviet invasion of Afghanistan that also contributed to the growth of Kalashnikov culture, intolerance, and drug culture in Pakistan. Even though Zia died 28 years ago, I blame Zia because instead of suppressing the extremism, policies implemented during his reign caused the sectarianism to grow strong and spread across all sectors of the society.
No one could have imagined attacks on Daataa Darbar, Bari Imam, and Sehwan Sharif and Pakpattan Sharif shrines before Zia’s tilt towards the Wahhabis. Now despite refusing to condemn killing of 120 innocent APS children, the bigoted Lal Masjid Mullah can still brazenly carry on spreading his poison. Wasn’t it Zia who allotted the land for Lal Masjid to the current Mullah’s father?
One cannot change the past but one learns from the past and unless my countrymen do so, innocent Pakistanis will continue to lose their lives. Regrettably all people like us can do is to keep pointing out that TTP/LeJ/ ISIS etc. are not doing this for Islam but to gain political power.
