The new government has been stressing a lot on reforming the Police, and even though PML was also stressing in Punjab but couldn't do jack, KPK govt has taken steps in recent weeks that show that it is not merely lip service.

CM KPK also grilled the Police during some ceremony, doodh ka doodh aur pani ka pani.

laws are not flawed, its the "will".

first time 3 terrorist names booked in an FIR. believe it or not it was the first time FIR was named with the names of the terrorists, instead of unknown terrorists, so there is some actual progress

very very good decision... promises are being fulfilled. @Leader add this on the new kpk sticky thread. this is a good step and hopefully it will help in hearing the pleas of many whose cries go unheard.

I remember hearing a case where a person went to the police for FIR. He had no idea how to register it... they wrote it in some copy and told him that it has been registered when they were supposed to write a complete complaint with his signatures/ thumb impression and was supposed to get a copy of that FIR. hopefully incidents like these will come a to a low if not completely finished.

You are right but so is @Leader, this is some actual progress. BUT this should NOT he the end of it. To tackle law and order, and security situation one needs an eefextive system with three things....Policy....which we dont have.....our AT/CT laws and third is the force.....
KPK has managed to work on the last entity by brining in reforms but again, it is equally important to formulate the policy.and legislation. Only than we will have.an eefective system in place

Good work, but its only half the job done as of yet. Next is to mature the system and make it fully functional and flawless system in which people will trust and rely eventually. A good step forward in right direction.

the main objective is that it should be helpful to the complainant.

as far as I see the majority are not so literate to express themselves in English and write what they have been through, describe the incident, let alone those who cannot read or write english at all.

secondly only english seems to be the working language.

this too should add pashtu, urdu and other regional languages. so that more people can use this facility.

else majority would be dependent on some composers at internet cafes or some english speaking relative.

FIR needs to be registered as soon as possible that is within hours, or atleast the same day of the incident.

lastly, how effective this system would be, only way to find out is that someone tests it, and share feedback.

even a FIR gets launched, evidence wiil decide with that absolte laws in place?
