Kiss and hug in public: Youngsters' protest against Yuva Morcha's moral policing

Thiruvananthapuram: In a strong reply to 'moral policing' by Yuva Morcha workers, some youngsters have decided to organise a programme at Kochi's Marine Drive in protest of last week's vandalism in a Kozhikode restaurant.

According to reports, the event is slated to take place on November 2 where people are open to kiss and hug their partners in public. A Facebook page will also be started soon to invite people to come forward and express their protest.

On October 23, workers of the Yuva Morcha had attacked a restaurant in Kozhikode alleging that it facilitated 'immoral activities'. The police had arrested one of the workers in connection with the incident.

Mate, all the attack on that shop was pre planned for helping other shop.. There Yuva Morcha acted as paid goons.. The attack started just 5 minutes after the new was being aired as if everything was pre planned.. The good thing was youth in Kozhikodu work together and made the shop open again in that evening itself.. I kind of hate moral policing.. I kind of laugh at comments about do not kiss in public because its against our culture when we have Khujraho temple which shows us how liberal we were during past..

Honestly I don't care about the background. Moral policing is illegal. Even if they had honest and genuine intentions they could have filmed it and posted online/submitted to police. Jail time is the only treatment. Period. No soft gloves for hooligans. Discipline is the first thing needed in our country.
