Kerala's 'Kiss day' event volunteers attacked by moral police

WOW. So kissing in public place is equal to "rock music" played at exclusive events ? :cheesy:

comes to the same thing... moral policing and hatred of female freedoms.

Ah, playing equal equal. Wonderful.

just giving the facts... :-)

how come nobody threatens indian males singing pro-sati songs or those wearing dhotis tamil-style with the long underwear sticking out?? or young males wearing tight pants?? or those college males who talk rudely and are a nuisance??

You are SICK. Thankfully the VHP is not.

wow...

So not allowing kissing in public place is restricting female freedom ? How is it not restricting Male freedom ?

"male freedom" to do what?? beat up ladies?? lecture them on "indian culture"?? what can these males tell me ( i am muslim socialist male )??

kissing in public generally looks awkward... but this event is to prove a point to criminals.

So in a state where 98% of the women feel unsafe due to sexual harassment, the idea is to kiss in public and prove a point to criminals ? ........amazing.

I've already done yours. Pretty good. That's enough for now. 'More than just kiss day' zindabad.

You don't have to fall down to their level just for a retort, at the end of the day, they acknowledge and suffer in their miserable existence. Keep this in mind.

Kochi, Oct 29: Volunteers of Kerala's much-talked about upcoming event "A Kiss of love" were attacked by alleged 'moral police' while they were campaigning at marine drive on Wednesday, said a IBN Live report. The event is scheduled to be held on November 2 at Marine Drive, a popular hang out spot in Kochi. According to the IBN report, the volunteers of the event were attacked by two men who stated that the event is a 'danger to the society'.

They tried to manhandle the volunteers and hurled abuses at them The event was launched as a protest against members of Yuva Morcha, a youth wing of BJP, who vandalized a restaurant in Calicut after a Congress-owned TV channel telecasted a video footage that showed young couples making out there. The volunteers initially started a Facebook page inviting people to come forward with their husbands/wives or partners to kiss or share a hug at marine drive to protest against the moral policing act.

The 'Kiss of Love' campaign is organised by "Free Thinkers" - a group on Facebook- led by short film maker Rahul Pasupalan. However, Kochi police is not very amused. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) R Nishanthini, said police have decided to reject permission for the programme. Rahul told PTI that he had met police officials yesterday with a written request to permit holding of the event.

'We have not heard from them. But we are going ahead with the programme. We have not been told that permission has been denied', he said.

Their facebook post has received over 20,000 likes, he said adding they were expecting at least 200 volunteers to turn up for the event. The VHP state unit said in a statement said they would take all steps to ensure that such an event is not held. 'Kiss of Love', is only being spread through social media and we are trying to find out whether it is really being planned or is a fake one.

Also we are trying to find out the source and the people behind it', the statement said. Certain legal steps were also being taken to prevent the conduct of the programme. Pointing that kissing in public was against Indian culture, VHP, however, denied reports that it would take steps to physically prevent the programme from being held. "VHP will not take law into their hands to prevent people from participating in the event," the statement said.

so, you will just let the criminals take over?? and why has kerala become unsafe??

the ladies of kerala were among the most liberated in india maybe a decade ago, from what i know... so many actresses were from kerala and its influenced place, mangalore... the kerala nurses i have seen are quite sociable... and all that has to do with foreign-influenced history of malabar and the conquests of tipu sultan as well as the communist movement in modern times.

but in the recent two decades, i suppose, the hinduvaadi and the tableeghi jamaati types have turned kerala into the unsafe-for-ladies place you describe.

the solution is fighting back...

other than the "kiss day", the ladies should organize within the "black noise project" which actually started from one of the the most unsafe cities in india for ladies ( and generally )... bangalore... top-five unsafe, no doubt.

but more so, the ladies in kerala should join the socialist movement there... that is the true solution.

Let me see if I have understood this correctly.

Kerala became "civilized" because of "foreign influence" and Tipu Sultan. :P

Kerala became unsafe because of Hinduvaadi :cheesy:

:enjoy: ..... best post so far.

A good initiative but for wrong reasons.

This is what happens in a immoral country ruled by bunch of immorals.

That's we Indian Muslims are looking forward to becoming a majority and taking things in our hands again

Dude, if you've had a hard life thus far, try and better yourself. Don't bring religion and whole communities into your online discourse, please. Speak for yourself, not for all of my country's Islamic people. This one-man-online-bullshitting of yours is getting old, and I can't imagine anyone who was born and raised in India, putting their silly religion before their country. How boring.

Peace.
