@Aeronaut Please take out all off topic posts including mine if any. Its seems like the Iranian here are pissed because the center will not discuss Zoroastrianism. Please enforce PDF rules regarding off topic and no value posts. @WebMaster @Jungibaaz

Same music...instead of calling the webmaster to clean up the posts on your beloved kingdom that you don't want be read by others, why don't use the little brain you have and fingers and defend your opinions...That the only way , you can lift any blemishes of that mythic paradise you call KSA.

King Abdullah center promotes dialogue between cultures

The King Abdullah International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue, which is based in Vienna, has published a book highlighting its achievements, especially in promoting a culture of dialogue among faith-based communities across the world.

“KAICIID has been playing a significant role in deepening the values of mutual understanding, tolerance and cooperation for the benefit of humanity and for promoting global peace and stability,” said Faisal bin Muammar, secretary-general of the center.

The book has highlighted Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah’s keynote speech at the opening of the World Dialogue Conference in the Spanish capital Madrid in July 2008.

In his speech, the king said: “Dear friends, we all believe in one God, who sent messengers for the good of humanity in this world and the hereafter. His will, praise be to Him, was that people should differ in their faiths. If the Almighty had so desired, all mankind would have shared the same religion. We are meeting today to affirm that the religions that God Almighty desired for the happiness of man should be a means to ensure that happiness.”

King Abdullah also cautioned against the danger of moral decadence. “Mankind is suffering today from a loss of values and conceptual confusion, and is passing through a critical phase which, in spite of all the scientific progress, is witnessing a proliferation of crime, an increase in terrorism, the disintegration of the family, subversion of the minds of the young by drug abuse, exploitation of the poor by the strong, and odious racist tendencies.”

In his speech, the king also emphasized that faith-based communities must focus on common denominators that unite them namely, deep faith in God, noble principles, and lofty moral values, for the success of dialogue.

“Man could be the cause of the destruction of this planet and everything in it. He is also capable of turning it into an oasis of peace and tranquility in which adherents of religions, creeds and philosophies could co-exist, and in which people could cooperate with each other in a respectful manner, and address problems through dialogue rather than violence.”

King Abdullah added: “Man is also capable of vanquishing hatred through love, and bigotry through tolerance, thereby enabling all mankind to enjoy the dignity that the Almighty has bestowed upon all of them. Dear friends: Let our dialogue be a triumph of belief over disbelief, of virtue over vice, of justice over iniquity, of peace over conflicts and wars, and of human brotherhood over racism.”

Muammar also spoke about the significance of the first global dialogue forum to be organized by KAICIID on Nov. 18-19 in Vienna. More than 600 delegates from 90 countries will take part in the event.
Over the past 12 months, KAICIID has taken a proactive approach to research and training in the fields of interreligious and intercultural education.

“This Global Forum is the culmination of a series of four regional conferences we have hosted since May 2013 in the Euro-Mediterranean region (Vienna); Africa (Addis Ababa); Asia (New Delhi); and the Americas (Buenos Aires),” the secretary-general said. “It is through educational exchange that humanity can shed the shell of suspicion that leads to misunderstanding and unrest. This is the principle on which KAICIID is built.”

DIALOGUE CAN AVERT COLLISION OF IDENTITIES AND CONFLICT: KAICIID SECRETARY GENERAL

“War in the name of religion is war against religion itself. And war in the name of democracy is war against democracy,” said Faisal Bin Muaammar, the Secretary General of the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID), speaking at the World Policy Conference in Monaco.

“The misuse of religion has caused many problems, as has the misuse of politics,“ said the Secretary General. If religious leaders need to be careful how they relate to politics, political leaders also need to be careful how they relate to religion. The key word is “how”. Through dialogue we can discover our different understanding of the word ‘how’ in our respective societies.“

The World Policy Conference considered the relationship between politics and religion that has changed dramatically in the past decades as religions are instrumentalised, and thus play an increasingly predominant role in the politics of conflict. The participating representatives of the three world religions deplored this trend and emphasised that in contrast religious institutions are, and should be, an instrument that enables better global governance.

Speaking of the role of KAICIID in facilitating dialogue between religion and politics, the Secretary General stated in his address: “Only separation of religion from politics is not the answer, nor is only unity of the two acceptable. A balance is needed. KAICIID wants to improve the relationship between religion and politics. We do so mainly by improving practices of dialogue across many sectors of society, starting with policy makers and religious leaders.“

Secretary General Bin Muaammar then described a new, innovative avenue to bring about that dialogue, the KAICIID Global Policy Network, a long-term policy network that organizes religious-political dialogue and an exchange of best practices worldwide. The first network of its kind in interreligious education, the Policy Network was an outcome of the November 2013 KAICIID Global Forum. Religious leaders, policy makers and experts from around the world met in Vienna to examine how fact-based interreligious and intercultural education can ensure that the so-called “Image of the Other”, the prevailing image of the fol-lowers of different faiths, is respectful and appropriate.

The sixth World Policy Conference was organised in the Principality of Monaco by the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI), gathering prominent economic, political and religious actors to discuss the international governance challenges facing society today. The panel “Politics and Religions”, moderated by Pierre Morel, Director of the Pharos Observatory of Cultural and Religious Pluralism, included His All Holi-ness, Bartholomew, Archbishop of Constantinople, New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch, who held the session’s keynote speech, as well as David Rosen, International Director of Interreligious Affairs, American Jewish Committee, Mohammed Sammak, Secretary-General of the National Committee for Christian-Muslim Dialogue – both members of KAICIID’s Board –Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, Chancellor, Pontifical Academy of Sciences and Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, and Mircea Geoana, Senator; former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania.

KAICIID was established in November 2012 in order to create a pioneering and leading global hub for dia-logue among followers of diverse religions and cultures. Today, the Centre actively creates opportunities, including conferences and education programmes, for the world’s religions and cultures to come together to discuss change in the field of intercultural and interreligious affairs. KAICIID is governed by a Board of Di-rectors, consisting of representatives of major world religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism) and cultures. The Dialogue Centre receives support from the governments of Saudi Arabia, Spain and Austria, each of which has representation on the Centre’s Council of Parties.

Madinah, Rabi'I 20, 1435, Jan 21, 2014, SPA

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and in the presence of Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah region and head of the Supreme Committee for the occasion of Madinah as the Capital of Islamic Culture 2013 , the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohiuddin Khoja today opened of the VIII Islamic conference of the ministers of culture of the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The opening of the conference, which is held under the title "For Promotion of Cultural Rights in the Muslim World for the Service of Dialogue and Peace", was also attended by ministers of culture and heads of delegations and international organizations interested in cultural affairs.

The opening ceremony, which was held at the University of Taibah, began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.

Then, the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohiuddin Khoja delivered a speech welcoming the ministers in Madinah.

The minister conveyed to them greetings and welcome of Saudi leaders and their best wishes to the participants.

The minister thanked Khalida Toumi, the Minister of Culture in the Republic of Algeria and Head of the seventh session of the conference, and Abulfas Garayev, the Deputy Head of the session and Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan, for their tireless efforts over the past two years in the follow-up work of the seventh conference of Islamic culture ministers which was held in Algiers, Republic of Algeria in 1433 AH, praying to Allah Almighty that the Conference reaches the desired objectives in the current session.

The Minister of Culture and Information called on the culture ministers in the Islamic world to be armed with the contents of culture to promote the principles of the true Islamic religion in love and deepen the bonds of brotherhood, harmony and understanding, also calling on their official and non-official cultural institutions to do their duties and work on the use of all means that reflect the cultural and Islamic glory to lift the injustice against Muslim peoples and introduce a pure image of the great message of Islam.

He appreciated the efforts made by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in this context, referring to the documents presented by the Organization in the conference, including monitoring of the organization's efforts during the past two years and its forward-looking vision of the desired efforts for the next two years.

Dr. Khoja said that on this occasion and according to the proposal of the organization in the 7th conference in Algeria to prepare a document under the title 'A draft plan of action to activate the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for dialogue between followers of religions and cultures, this document is complementary to the efforts based on the royal initiative, calling on culture ministers to adopt a resolution issued by this conference reflecting our interaction with the noble meanings of this royal initiative, and discuss aspects of cooperation to activate the initiative and reach a formula enabling Member States of the ISESCO Organization to participate in this area in the future.

He noted that this conference comes within the programs celebrating Madinah as the capital of Islamic culture; and during the year, successful efforts and numerous activities and programs launched from the culture of this blessed city, commending Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah region for his support and directives to the Madinah event.

Dr. Khoja thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for patronizing and step-by -step following-up preparations for this great Islamic cultural event, Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, for his support and Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, who made the success of this occasion top of his priorities.

Today, we are witnesses that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is keen to pursue the historic Islamic method of his predecessors, late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his successor kings: Saud, Faisal, Khalid and Fahd to serve the two holy mosques, pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors, and observe their care for the preservation of the religion and Islamic culture, the Minister of Culture and Information said, adding that King Abdullah is giving priority to religious education and Islamic culture, emanating from his belief that it is a religious duty, thus, focusing on the service of the two holy mosques and securing comfort for their pilgrims, Umrah performers, visitors and resident expatriates.

In this regard, Dr. Khoja announced two proposals embodying a vision to produce a joint cultural work and reflect the spiritual aspect of Muslim's second holiest city and its historic role in the service of Islamic culture and paying care to talented Muslims: First, establishment of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah electronic website for Islamic culture, giving chance to every single Islamic country to display its cultural landmarks and introduce its output in arts, literature and science and, Second: bibliography of innovators in the Islamic world in the fields of arts and literature so that it would be written in paper or broadcast on line, introducing innovators, scientists and experts of the Islamic world in these cultural fields, aiming to strengthen ties among innovators, consolidate cooperation and exchange their experiences.

He said the ISESCO's Consultative Council for the implementation of the cultural strategy for the Islamic world could assign the organization's experts in the Islamic world to put the two proposals in an executive framework prior to presenting them to the coming session of the conference to name their executive mechanisms.

LOL @Doritos11

So they shout Shia a few times to rivals and "ya kalb" and "ya yahud". Ever been on a football stadium before? Such insults are common.

It is not like Shias, especially the Iraqi ones, do not have a habit of insulting Islamic figures etc. We have heard and seen it all before.

Anyway don't derail this topic and write it in the "Whatever" thread on this forum. That's the place for such videos/discussions.

Legends anyway.
