That is a big, I mean very big question for which MQMers have no satisfactory answer.

Considering how this Country has been running for like 40 Years whatever Karachi has got from federal Govt. has all because of MQM. Karachi never saw Peace in these 40 years because Central Govt. was never Interested in that. Karachi doesnt even got Local Infrastructure because Central Govt. wasnt Interested in developing it. Karachi never got Local Law Enforcement because Central Govt. doesnt want to give Karachiite a space in Public Sector. SO Whatever Karachi have has been possible because MQM Took the Stand mostly.

Zarvan is getting too much attention these days

MQM has their share of troubles here but they are quite low in comparison to others. In Lyari a Gangwar Element has killed Thousands of people within very confined Area and same goes for other Mafias and if you compare that with MQM's Influential Areas its very Low. When Law Enforcement Agencies is doing whole operation against one Group while leaving others then the question would remain about their Interest in Peace of Karachi as their past track Record is not good in this regards.

I was there in the 90s, I have seen their terror upclose and personal, i did not support then i would not support now.
what has MQM gained for Mohajirs except alienating them form rest of the Pakistan.

This is the ultimate question. Ultimate. MQM was made to defend the interests of muhajirs. Instead it has isolated muhajirs in the country. The thing MQM feeds on is non existant oppression of muhajirs and the muhajirs believe it. Believe the Punjabis have taken their rights and Pashtuns are taking their city karachi even though we make up 40-50% of the population.

You asked a very good question my friend. Muhajirs are now known as fanatics because of said organization.
