Security forces killed two terrorists during an exchange of fire in general area Dossali, North Waziristan district, the military said in a statement on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exchange of fire took place on Thursday. “Own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and sealed all possible escape routes. During the ensuing fire exchange, two terrorists were sent to hell,” the statement added.

It said that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and the killing of innocent citizens.

If further said that sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area. Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the area, the statement added.

On May 31, at least two terrorists were killed in an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) launched by security forces in the same area on reported presence of militants.

During conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange occurred between security forces and terrorists, resulting in killing of two terrorists, ISPR said in a statement.

In recent years, the army has launched several successful operations against terrorist groups operating in different parts of the country, including North Waziristan.

These operations have been crucial in dismantling the terrorist infrastructure and eliminating the threat posed by these groups to the civilian population and security forces alike.

During his maiden press conference, on April 25, as director general of the ISPR, Maj-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry had revealed that a total of 8,269 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) had been conducted since January as a result of which 1,535 terrorists had been killed or apprehended.

Of these, 4,040 IBOs were conducted in Balochistan, another 3,591 in K-P, 119 in Punjab and 519 operations were conducted in Sindh. On average, over 70 IBOs were being conducted daily by the army, police and LEAs since January, he continued.

Two soldiers were martyred and as many terrorists killed during an intense exchange of fire in the Janikhel area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district on Saturday, according to a statement issued by the military’s media affairs wing.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said security personnel “ effectively engaged the terrorists’ location“ during the gun battle, as a result of which “two terrorists were sent to hell”.

Meanwhile, the ISPR added, 40-year-old Naib Subedar Ghulam Murataza, a resident of Bahawalpur district, and 41-year-old Havildar Muhammad Anwar, a resident of Sialkot district, “having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat (martyrdom)”.

Sanitisation of the area was being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found there, the ISPR said, adding that the “armed forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve”.

In a similar incident earlier this week, two terrorists were killed by security forces during an intelligence-based operation in the general area of North Waziristan’s Dossali in KP.

The same day a soldier deployed to provide security to polio teams was martyred in an attack by terrorists in North Waziristan’s Spinwam area.

Pakistan has seen an uptick in terror activities, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, after the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended its ceasefire with the government in November.

In his maiden press briefing last month, ISPR Director General Maj Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that at least 293 people were martyred and 521 were injured in 436 terrorist incidents over the past year.

In KP, 192 people were martyred in 219 terror activities, while 80 people lost lives in 206 incidents in Balochistan, 14 people in five attacks in Punjab, and seven in six terrorism incidents across Sindh.

He had said that the army and law enforcement agencies carried out 8,269 intelligence-based operations during the previous year in which 1,378 suspected terrorists were apprehended and 157 were killed.

The DG ISPR had also said that overall 137 security personnel were martyred and 117 injured in anti-terror operations in the ongoing year.

These poor soldiers from villages are dying for a drama.

TTP and all these hyper-religious groups in Pakistan are controlled by the GHQ. It’s become very obvious.

See the incidents of killings since 2017. It went down massively, but it was still large. Their combat strength was severely depleted during the operations, but they fled to Afghanistan and managed to gather their combat strength (albeit its a fraction of what it was in 2009). They did not just magically appear from nowhere like you think.
