Even Russia do not have a FADEC engine like Kaveri yet, they are developing first one for PAK FA! A great achievement. :cheers:

Do not know if it is first out side US and Europe.

Really? IN MIG-29k come with FADEC- a must, for them, for operating off ACC:

It uses Israeli EW suite and indian comms. Suite. The MiG-29k uses HOTAS control,Topsight-E HMS system,Sagem-95 GPS/INS and Totem Ring laser gyro.Equipped with a laser designator it can fire PGMs like KAB-500kr bombs.a great plane.it has two RD-33 MK turbofan with 88.3 kn each.It has full FADEC and a service life of 4000 hrs.

I hope Kaveri is really ready to impress by the AMCA comes into the IAF fleet. It has generated successful Navy spin-offs but its real purpose yet remains unseen. Pray that once this ridiculous government loses and gets out, the new government increases the speed of all our projects in pipeline.

Su-35's 117S and Mig-29K's RD-33MK might Have some digital engine control but that may not full (FADEC).

Some details of PAK-FA 117 engine

One of the major components of these flights was to check the functioning of the new engine. Despite the fact that the engine for the PAK FA repeats the scheme of the famous AL-31F, it has 80 percent of new parts. This low-pressure compressor, combustor, turbine, installed at an angle of 30 degree swivel nozzle, high pressure compressor, a digital automatic control system with elements of distributed parameters and plasma ignition system.

As reported in the exhibition "Engines-2010" Chief Designer included in the Saturn SEC them. Yevhen Marchuk, responsible for creating the engine for the PAK FA, in the development of the turbofan, a series of measures to improve reliability and increase resource. This is necessary because the engine is more intense, has a higher temperature.

Plasma ignition system - new Russian engine.

Until now, all ignition system to increase the altitude, the ability to run at an altitude turbojet used oxygen replenishment. She demanded the availability of the entire oxygen system on board, and associated infrastructure at the airport. When you create a PAK FA has been tasked to ensure oxygen-free starting.Plasma ignition system installed in the main combustion chamber and afterburner. According to Eugene Marchukova, know-how embedded in the very nozzle with a plasma system: it simultaneously with the application of kerosene organized by the arc plasma. It is also very serious know-how incorporated in the very ignition systems where it is necessary for a short time give a very high voltage.

Digital control system with full responsibility as applied in the domestic airplane for the first time. Hydraulic power packs are just the executive. As noted by Yevhen Marchuk, the exception of one redundant centrifugal regulator, which allows for the total elimination of all electronics, such as exposure to a nuclear explosion, to return to base at a reduced mode. Digital ACS is very mobile and flexible. Whereas before, the analog control, change control algorithm engine takes two or three months, now, this operation takes a few minutes, sometimes not even need to stop the turbojet. That is, as noted by General Designer SEC A. Cradles, fixing and debugging engine is much faster. This in turn leads to a tight schedule of testing new aircraft.

The engine of the first stage for the PAK FA is built on a completely conventional scheme. He, in particular, is devoid of such characteristic elements as the flat nozzle, available from a competitor of our car - F-22. However, according to Eugene Marchukova, work on the exhaust system are underway. At the stage production of technical documentation are the development of a flat nozzle and the reverse.

From the viewpoint of gas dynamics with a flat nozzle solid deficiencies, since its establishment must make the transition to the circular (the engine) on the flat. Loss of traction at the same time can be 5-7 percent. The advantage of only one thing - providing heat at the expense of closing the stealth plane turbine blades. This mode is limited: it is switched on for 5-10 minutes to overcome the enemy's air defense system. To solve this problem, such losses are acceptable. But the designers of Saturn are trying to minimize losses of 2-3 percent.

it will take a decade more for Kaveri... to be fit for a high endurance run required for a fighter plane... after that it wil be pretty easy to develop more powerful versions..

FADEC??? wat is it?
Does kaveri has Fadec?

Full Authority Digital Engine Control

FADEC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Advantages

* Better fuel efficiency
* Automatic engine protection against out-of-tolerance operations
* Safer as the multiple channel FADEC computer provides redundancy in case of failure
* Care-free engine handling, with guaranteed thrust settings
* Ability to use single engine type for wide thrust requirements by just reprogramming the FADECs
* Provides semi-automatic engine starting
* Better systems integration with engine and aircraft systems
* Can provide engine long-term health monitoring and diagnostics
* Number of external and internal parameters used in the control processes increases by one order of magnitude
* Reduces the number of parameters to be monitored by flight crews
* Due to the high number of parameters monitored, the FADEC makes possible "Fault Tolerant Systems" (where a system can operate within required reliability and safety limitation with certain fault configurations)
* Can support automatic aircraft and engine emergency responses (e.g. in case of aircraft stall, engines increase thrust automatically).

Disadvantages

* Full authority digital engine controls have no form of manual override available, placing full authority over the operating parameters of the engine in the hands of the computer. If a total FADEC failure occurs, the engine fails. In the event of a total FADEC failure, pilots have no way of manually controlling the engines for a restart, or to otherwise control the engine. As with any single point of failure, the risk can be mitigated with redundant FADECs.
* High system complexity compared to hydromechanical, analogue or manual control systems
* High system development and validation effort due to the complexity

When will it be ready? Can we expect it for LCA MK-2 or atleast to power the prototypes of AMCA and further versions of it?

LCA MK2 will be powered be GEF414 engines but when the engines need to be replaced they will be replaced by the Kaveri MK2 expect to see Kaveri MK2 on AMCA and LCA MK2 by the end of this decade

Thats an old document the thrust was confirmed to be at 85-87 kN a few months back...... and that was with kabini caore...... the Scema core generates more heat.

so is the goal thrust 100KN with after burner?
