Kashmir Mess : Who is responsible ???

ajk is generally, and mirpur specifically, is largely considered 'north Punjab', apparently these cultural differences have existed since before 1947.

most of this hankering for Indian land is just Pakistani Punjabi jihadi bloodlust and their grand delusions of jihadi glory and Islamic conquest, make it an international border and be done with it.
Ofcourse we have cultural similarities with Punjab we were a bordering area of Punjab and Kashmir fot god sake
Mirpur is just one district of Azad Kashmir bet you didnt know that

 Hurriyat stance is same that was before, its not changed. FYI, they used to talk to Pakistani officials before too.
In short, Hurriyat is nothing. They can never be a part in bilateral talks.
I think its the same source that showed loadshedding protests in Mirpur and Muzafarabad as pro india protests

I have spent 2 years of my Childhood in Poonch Rajori .
Don't remember much but People there were Good nothing like the ones on the other side , who have been troubling the people of Poonch .

The back channel deal has already been done. Publically It would still be India-Pakistan bilateral talks which would implement the plan agreed upon as part of the back channel talks.

What makes you think India gives a shit about Hurriyat, which does not even represent 1% of the state's population.
Lets talk some sense. Pakistan wants to engage with some irrelevant people, India doesn't care. Pakistan is free to talk as much as they can with them, AFTER the bilateral talks.

which source? Guess you misquoted me...

Hurriyat may not carry much support on the India side but they have strong support on Pakistan side of the border. They need to be in the loop just like Pakistan's military for Sharif to sell the plan in Pakistan.

no, I was just speaking to some friends of mine the other day about it, and I'm not sure how good a sample size that is but they're Kashmiri so they would know.. and sorry but they were particularly dismissive about Mirpur (and the immediate surrounding areas too I suppose) but they also said that Muzzafrabad is Kashmir proper, and, strangely enough, they also consider Chitral and GB etc as integral parts, and I say 'strangely' because the Pakistanis, at least you lot here on PDF, seem to make a special effort to emphasize that Pak controlled AJK and GB/Chitral are separate entities.

anyway, they're not supporters of armed struggle but they also want the Chinese to gtfo of Aksai, and.. don't want anything to do with Pakistan either, exclusive valley and 'Kashmiriyat' supremacists

also friends with some what one would consider 'upwardly mobile' refugee Pandits but most of them just seem to have gotten on with life and don't really seem to care, the younger generation anyway.. because coward hindus, right ?

iirc, I think @SarthakGanguly mentioned he even got expelled from a Kashmiri Pandit youth forum for suggesting they take up arms and fight the jihad with a dharm yudh of their own.

end of the day, "kashmiris" have no stake in this.. it's a much bigger geopolitical game and imo the loc>ib is the only solution, 'soft' borders, special visas, special permits can be part of it though.

wise people would have recognised the will of the people in 47 and 65 war, after all the war was started on the belief that the poeple are waiting to be liberated and there will be pouplar uprising against India once the PA moves in.

And i hope you use the same yardstick.in this case as well.
How Balochistan became a part of Pakistan – a historical perspective

.
At partition , India had more than 550 princely states . They were given option of Joining India , Pakistan or stay independent . As the thread is limited to Kashmir . Lets focus on it .

Kashmir decided to stay independent . Indian and Pakistan acknowledged that .
Kashmir signed an agreement with Pakistan , according to which Pakistan will keep its forces away from the border and a path was open by Pakistan for easy Postal services .

After few months , Pakistan betrayed Independent Kashmir and attacked Kashmiri territories .
As Kashmir was loosing its Independence , its King signed agreement with India , Joined India and gave his citizens special rights before joining India .

Since then , Kashmir has become a dispute between India and Pakistan .
Those who call themselves Azad Kashmiris are actually the people who are occupied illegally .

So Who is responsible for this mess ???

@SarthakGanguly , Enlighten me more on this ???

@vayuputhra @dadeechi @ranjeet @HariPrasad @nair

Wrong. Pakistan never attacked Kashmir. It was a rebellion started by their thirst of their religioness. I mean Kashmir was peacefull till that time.
And suddenly the Maharaja went violent? Can anyone buy this story. Just like Raja Dahir was a tyrant, they needed to defame the King to benefit their lies.
The story: Its soldiers rebelled for joining Pakistan. Dogras retaliated and stopped trusting Muslims. Pakistani tribalsmen joined the fight. Pakistani forces under a British General refused to join the war.
So King signs the treaty with India. And Indian Army was successfull in throwing out the Barbarians who were near Sri Nagar. According to one historian I read, they could have taken Srinagar had they not stopped the night before to loot and plunder.

And the biggest blunder: Nehru went to UN to bolster his own credentials as peaceful as Gandhi.
