Hamid Karzai has no Base to support him as his own Pushtoon brothers would prefer Mulla Omar over him any day and his Tajik friends just barely tolerate him. The TTP at the peak of its strength tried to take on PA head on conventionally, Result: It got smashed and PA steam rolled through its defences. This is why it has resorted to guerilla tactics, hit and run.
