Actually, This concept is created with experiences gained from Hendek urban operations took place in SE Turkiye and ongoing Syria operations. Cida with more effective features will be a replacement of Rpg-7. To improve effectiveness of infantry against tanks, armored vehicles and enemy assets in urban operations, Turkey had placed a huge order for French EryX missiles(Range:600m) in 2000’s. The production was planned to be done in Turkey and It was even given green light for production in paralel to payments but later, It is realized that Many EryX missiles produced in Turkey missed the target in firing trials so Turkey had to cancel ongoing production phase with showing poor precision of missiles. Today, we are developing Cida to close a big gap with way superior features on its lighter weight. Cida and EryX will have similar concept in urban warfare.

as i recall you guys had javelin equivalent i can't remember it's name sadly.
i guess your army wants to replace this recent systems as service AT missile and rpg-7 alternative. but that javelin equivelant is for elite AT units.

Guys, Calm down please. There is a misunderstanding in here. OMTAS is a tripod launchable, fire/forget missile which is equivalent of missiles like TOW, French Rapier, Russian Kornet, Israeli Spike-LR in terms of usage so OMTAS will replace TOW missiles Turkish Army operates. .
Furthermore, KaraOk (man portable anti-tank missile) share very similar concept with Javelin in terms of operability and having similar weight and range scale. No need to reach an early result while reading 1000+m. It is a brochure figure representing a hidden agenda thanks to (+). Karaok has a diameter of 125mm, length of 110cm and weight of 25kg, reaching just 1000m(?) range, While Cida with 900mm diameter, 1m length having a range of ~800m. Such a big size differences and engineering studies are applied just to add 200m more range than Cida? How possible is that? so Just wait until Roketsan announce the actual range of KaraOk before judging the capbilities. It will have a range more than 2km in all likely scenarios. (+) refers decleration of an open ended statement. Roketsan freqyently does it for missile programs. SOM-J had a range of 100+nm when It is introduced but today, The range is given as 150nm.
