KARACHI: Overnight bloodshed in Karachi claimed seven lives in the business metropolis, Express 24/7 reported on Monday.
Seven people were gunned down in separate shooting incidents in Liaqatabad, Delhi Colony, Haji Camp, Hub checkpoint and near the Radio Pakistan building.
Police and Rangers have arrested 25 people on suspicion in a joint search operation in Gulistan-e-Johar.
The operation was carried out on the directions of Interior Minister Rehman Malik who also took Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Awami National Party (ANP) leaders into confidence over the operation.
Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul-Ibad has left for London to meet the MQM leadership and brief them on the situation in Sindh.

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and MNA Nabeel Gabol on Tuesday said “everyone knows who is responsible for the killings in Karachi”, DawnNews reported.

Mr Gabol stated that he knew of almost 5,000 houses where weapons were stored and that there was no need for a political reconciliation. He also held the PPP as among those responsible for the situation in Karachi.

Speaking during a debate on the situation of Karachi in the National Assembly, Mr Gabol said that he would tell Interior Minister Rehman Malik about the elements responsible for destabilising Karachi.

He said he did not want any prize for identifying the culprits and further stated that the police and law enforcement agencies were providing security to the criminals.

During the session, PPP leader Fauzia Wahab said some people were unwilling to accept the facts behind Karachi’s situation and were destroying the city as a result of their irrational approach towards the issue.

On the occasion, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz leader Ayaz Amir said that different administrative systems were being introduced for different regions of Sindh. He further said that the corps commanders should not issue statements on Karachi and other internal issues.

KARACHI: At least eight people were killed during incidents of violence in Karachi during the past 12 hours, DawnNews reported.

Moreover, 75 suspected individuals had been arrested by law enforcement agencies carrying out search operations in the city.

Earlier on Monday, fear gripped parts of Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Gulistan-i-Jauhar and a few housing societies in Scheme-33 after armed attacks and an exchange of fire killed at least four people and left at least five wounded, police and witnesses said.

The firing incidents that erupted about an hour before sunset continued into Monday night, prompting the police and the Rangers only to cordon off the affected areas and launch a snap checking of motorists.

Showing unawareness about the motive and people behind the firing, police said they had spotted the affected areas and would launch a ‘search operation’.

Why does every comment of yours end up in bringing up MQM?

I'm not saying MQM is a party of saints but the ground reality is that the only no-go areas of Karachi are ANP and PPP strongholds. ANP is especially dangerous here because they're taking over areas/buildings where taliban members eventually go to hide.

After these no-go areas are cleaned up, areas where MQM miscreants are causing trouble can be cleaned up too.

Yesterday I was passing through NIPA chorangi, where one Mini bus was torched. The violence is an attempt to make the strike successful.

Another bus was torched, which was full of passengers, leaving one passenger burnt alive till death, and 5 injured.

Just got news there was firing on some political rally ... does any one know more ?
