Wasn't a hardliner as such but had differences with Musharraf. After his retirement, had spent a proper retired life with his family without involving himself into any political or non political activities. May Allah bless his soul.

RIP General.
That old car and simple dress is more than enough to tell the simple life he was living. No personal driver,no bodyguard , servant etc.
Now after what nawaz Sharif has done to this country we should deeply respect men like Lt Gen usmani who once taught noora a good lesson.
Wife passed few months ago and now he too gone ,how a mentally less capable daughter is going to survive She has no other siblings etc . She is all alone in this world . Very sad.

that was a wrong accusation on him as it was a norm during those days, his only crime was that he was opposing unrestricted US interference in Pakistan .... so he was not much aligned with Mush policy and US was also seeking his removal therefore he was removed .....
