What's new

Karachi should vote for Jamat-e-islami

.
The same Jamat e Islami who is part of current PDM government under the garb of Mutahida Majlis-e-Amal MMA (alliance of JUI-F, JI etc.) ?

The MMA participated in regime change operation and voted against PTI.

No, thanks.

Another futile attempt by establishment to divide PTI votes.

Karachi has fully supported Imran Khan since 2011, and will continue to do so.

Political engineering must stop.
JI hasn't been part of MMA for close to a decade now. Even IK voted for Fazlu when he ran for PM against Mushy's choice.

.
Entire political system is harami no vote there is no person who deserves vote

. .
When Pakistanis say they have no choice of worthy corruption free parties/candidates they are in fact lying. JI has been the sole truly democratic and corruption free party in the history of Pakistan.

And to be brutally honest, Pakistanis don't deserve a party like JI. Their mayor Naimatullah Khan did wonders for Karachi, but in the very next election Karachites brought back the corrupt traitor terrorists of MQM instead of giving NK and JI a fresh mandate to continue the good work. Karachites will need a life time of atonement for their sins of propping up MQM and then complete civil disobedience of PPP led provincial gov't before things will improve.

Fare and free elections should be the priority. Once we have rigged free elections, it’s the people who need to wake up. They live in a dump and keep electing MQM/ PPP and expect change. They need to put their own self interest ahead of their loyalty to these politicians.

JI can't do shit after 18th amendment. Try them now sub pata chul jaye ga ...

. .
Or ulternatively we can start our own party, or organisation....
we can start by doing the right thing which is to ask our representatives to not be the little puppets of establishment and to represent the will of people, don't vote for a party who is supported by establishment, whoever it is!

Alright so a lot of Karachi based influencers seems to be backing jamat-e-islami

It makes sense - PTI is a big national party, they only need Punjab, KP to form a very powerful federal government, infact potentially the strongest federal government ever formed is on the cards if things go smoothly - so from an electoral presepctive Karachi would always take a backseat

PTI can't truly focus on unique issues of Karachi and let's be honest it's track record in Karachi is proof of that,- 18th amendment is a topi drama

PTI's local leadership is made up of a bunch of nobodies

Jamat-e-islami not an ethnic party but an Islamist one, which karachite of all background can largely get behind as a city
it's not TLP or led by far right mullahs, but a democratic party under the leadership of a well spoken, proffesional Karachite local political figure

From Karachi's presepctive I think city should get behind jamat-e-islami as their political representative

Saying that - it's a double edged sword, if a significant amount of Karachi starts voting for JI instead of PTI, it'll divide Thier vote bank where a 3rd party would benefit - MQM, PPP or TLP
All 3 are bad omen for a city like Karachi

TLDR version - Jamat-e-islami is a much better option for karachi compared to PTI but division in city's vote bank would lead to a 3rd party gaining power

It's a gamble

What do you expect JI will be able to do for Karachi? They have no power in any province nor in the federation. So apart from the usual crying they will do nothing.

JI is a known backstabbing and hypocrite party. The latest few incident is that when they were in coalition in kpk with PTI, PTI got them a senate seat and then they backstabbed by voting for PPP in the Senate chairmanship. They cry about the injustices by PPP & PMLN but then they join hands with PDM against PTI.

The only solution is to get PTI 2/3rd majority so they can remove the 18th amendment and save Karachi from PPP. Thats the only hope Karachi has.

As someone who was born in Karachi, I get to call myself an honorary Sindhi/Karachite. So this pseudo Karachite says "Hell NO".
