a story that seems to be straight out of children's cartoon, a man in Uttar Pradesh was duped into believing that a stray dog was his goat. Confused? Here's what happened.
As per reports, Ashraf, a resident of Kanpur, had gone to the nearby Jajmau Chungi Mandi, a popular goat market, on Monday night (August 20) to sell off his three goats during the Bakrid season.
Ashraf managed to sell two of his goats and was looking to sell the third one, when a conman approached him and said that his goat had escaped and was standing behind him.
Trusting the man, Ashraf did not check the place he had tied his goat and ran towards a black animal resembling his goat. The animal's face was covered with a veil of flowers and the rope around its neck looked like the one Ashraf had tied his goat with.
When Ashraf tried to herd the animal, it started barking. When he returned to the place his goat was tied, it was missing. Turns out, the conman, benefitting from the dark had duped Ashraf into thinking a dog was his goat.
When he tried to complain to the people in the market, he became a laughing stock. Embarrassed at his fate, Ashraf left the market without filing a complaint.
