The assailant, whose identity was being ascertained at the time of filing this report, was held by JNU’s private security guards and taken away.

The incident took place around 6.30 pm while Kanhaiya was interacting with some students near the administrative block of the university.

Eyewitnesses said that the man first spoke a few words with Kanhaiya before launching a physical assault on him. But the student leader, who has been charged with sedition, escaped any serious harm.

Despite who pissed off and who he insulted, physical violence in all it's forms must be condemned. There is no need to physically abuse him, counter him on his narrative, which in fact is quite weak. I pity congress and nsui, this could have been there moment in the sun to get some momentum behind them by opposing anti-national views but they missed it by standing in the sidelines in solidarity with the left. Poor planning and poor tactics that pretty much reflects the lethargic and lazy leadership it possess. Lack of leadership in ABVP is of grave concern too, there wasn't one abvp leader who could for a coherent sentence on camera, this might come back to haunt BJP in the long run.

My request to members here is there is no need to bring Arvind into this, this fellow neither has the caliber or the credentials of Arvind.

Shatru Vinaash in this context mean destroying their ideology and the framework that support that ideology. Dismantling the funding, job security, and propaganda infrastructure that fuel this ideology. JNU is in the heart of this fight.

Beating up the puppets will serve no purpose, the professors have to be fired and replaced. Problem is the shortage of men with right credentials who can step in.
