and Muslims have to fight against Kafir ?
literally and just their beliefs ?
Hi Sathya,
No, as in the Quran, it clearly states in chapter 2 verse 256: "there is no compulsion in religion". Anyone can believe what they want to believe.
When Muslims conquered Makkah, there was a portion of our army that was polytheist allies.
However there is these verses:
https://quran.com/9
Which are against polytheists. These verses where revealed after the conquest of Makkah. For over 20 years the kafirs of Makkah had fought Muslims, and now that Muslims had defeated them, they wanted to make Makkah and Medina a holy place.
Thus the kafirs here were given an option to travel freely for 4 months or however long was the treaty with them. And by then either to leave this area or to accept Islam or to prepare to fight.
This does not mean for all ages and all times Muslims are to fight and
"
kill the polytheists wherever you find them"
It means, as is given in the very preceding verses, those specific people, that specific time, and after those specific months.
Now, these people fought Muslims for 20 years. beseiged them. tortured them. drove them away like Rohingyas. So it was only fair. But some people who have an agenda (mainly Christian and Jewish Orientalists) try to twist the Quran, taking verses out of context and trying to make us look bad. Because they have control over powerful media, even some of our own youth start believing them.
