Karachi: One dead, 10 wounded in MQM office blasts
ARACHI:At leas one person was killed and ten more were wounded when two successive blasts struck near Muttahuida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Unit 132 office in Orangi Town's Qasba Colony area here on Saturday night, Geo News reported.
Reportedly the first blast was reported to be a cracker attack on a Fiqah-eJafria mosque, Masjid-e-Ali, located near the MQM office in the remits of Pirabad Police Station, while the second one, the sources said could be an improvised explosive device evident from the pellet injuries.
DIG of Police (West), Zafar Bukhari, confirmed it was most probably a vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) blast, which he said was likely planted in a pick-up truck.
According to initial reports the early casualties were shifted to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital.
Rescuers and law enforcing agencies have started reaching the blast site.
So loud was the bang of the blast that almost all the Karachi heard it.
