Jordan, Saudi Arabia sign cooperation accord on civil protection

Amman, Apr. 7 (Petra) -- Director General of Civil Defence Lieutenant General Talal Kofahi and his Saudi counterpart Lieutenant General Saad Al Twaijri, on Sunday signed the rules to expand a 2006 cooperation agreement on civil protection and civil defence.

The agreement covers the exchange of information in the theoretical and practical training for personnel in civil protection agencies, holding joint operational exercises and training courses in the field of combating forest fires, fires aboard ships, and disaster management.

The signing of the executive regulations is set to lead to the formation of a joint committee in civil protection and civil defence, and put the agreement into force so the highest level of coordination and cooperation can be enacted.
