Jordan has delivered Al-Jawad 4x4 armored vehicles to Palestinian Security Forces

The Palestinian Security Forces have received a new batch of Al-Jawad 4x4 armored vehicles from Jordan. A tweet was published on the Twitter account of Flat Eric on August 21, 2019, showing members of the Palestinian security forces at the front of Al-Jawad vehicles.

The Palestinian Security Services (PSS) are the armed forces and intelligence agencies of the State of Palestine. They comprise several institutions, notably the Security Forces and the Police. The President of the Palestinian National Authority is Commander-in-Chief of the Palestinian Forces.

The Al-Jawad is 4x4 light tactical armored vehicle designed and manufactured by the Jordanian Defense Company KADDB. The vehicle is mainly used as APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) and can accommodate up to 10 military personnel including driver and commander.

The Al-Jawad is based on a Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 chassis motorized with a Diesel engine developing 300 Hp. coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle can run at a maximum speed of 130 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 650 km.

The hull of the Al-Jawad provides protection against firing of small arms 7.62mm and artillery shell splinters. The roof of the vehicle can be fitted with open-top or armored turret that can be armed with a 7.62mm machine gun.

This is good news from KADDB as orders from Jordanian army for Wahsh were made already so these could possibly be for army or foreign nation for export.

This “Tatra Force 4×4” chassis, may hide the future MRAP Al Wahesh of the Jordanian army or one to be sent to one of the numerous allies.
Tatra will deliver 328 chassis to (probably) the Jordanian KADDB arms manufacturing group, for a cost $ 40 million and will be used to build a new generation of 4×4 MRAP armored vehicles, probably Al Wahesh and Al Wahesh 105, with 105mm mortar.

As a reminder, Tatra supplied 150 chassis in 2018 to KADDB, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

Al-Wahesh is an MRAP, able to carry 8 equipped soldiers (and two crew members) and evolve in difficult terrain. It is shielded to STANAG 4569 KE L1 standard and has an electro-optical monitoring system.

Some MRAPs from this class were seen operating in Libya amongst “Marshal” Haftar’s forces.

I am still skeptical about the deal of century being rolled out at all, so I don't think so. It's part of continued security training/support program which is involving EU/Arab nations more than it has in the past.

Well I think you are right about this, but at least Jordanians are making money and in turn Palestinians(employees) are benefiting from it.

Yes, in very large quantites for Gendarmerie. PSS got newer version then these though.

Palestine is divided, Hamas and the other groups in Gaza fight Israel and have military grade weapons. PA in West Bank has agreements with Israel, no military grade weapons and tries to campaign for a two state solution via diplomatic efforts.

I'm generally in favor of Hamas and PIJ but having two systems of government with opposing ideologies makes for an interesting hybrid system. They both can't ignore each and both need each other in some ways but at same time share serious disputes. The ideal situation would be for Hamas and the other factions to act as parties under the PLO in cooperation with PA. Let PA take over governance and the rest military resistance, whilst introduce military resistance in a calculated and limited manner in the West Bank while pushing for diplomatic solution. Unless an political climate arises in the region where you have other options at that point.

So in a way, we Palestinians need both of them, doing with only one dominant party will not be good for our cause in immediate term.
