JF17 AESA radar

JF-17 front is bigger even I think bigger radar then mentioned one can be put inn...am im right??
 
So apparently JF-17 was not designed to host an AESA radar. Its unfortunate since by the time the sixth prototype was flying, AESA radars were already there. This should had been incorporated at least in the drawing board that future JF-17 blocks might incorporate an AESA radar. :(
 
The J-10B has a cooling plate added for the AESA. JF-17 can get that as well, cooling can be solved. We have to wait and see.

when are they going to import the J-10 Fighters?they are better then JF-17.
 
We don't need J-10 yet, JF-17 can carry out all the tasks J-10 can do. And PAF already has 4.5 gen F-16 Blk-52s.

My opinion is, if India's MRCA deal goes on track and Rafael arrives early then J-10s can be considered else PAF is going to wait and save funds as much as it can to opt for 5th Gen J-3.

Enlarged nose means millions upon millions in redesign which is a no no. A smaller AESA then? This is quite the conundrum.

No, because its not necessary to put big AESA on all JF-17s as there will be mix of hi-lo JF-17s in PAF, so they can redesign the nose which is not a big deal as study work was done by CAC on Stealthy version of JF-17 and we had some MOU with them in this regards.

Also AESA option was always there for JF-17s since block-I but we don't have enough funds to have them.

There is a solution, but it requires greenbacks which the PAF doesnt have, nor is it in a hurry to put in those till the third batch coming around 2017 or so.

AESA and 2017 are way too optimistic.

Yar a couple of Qulfies before the sortie should be enough dont you think. HaHa.
The real question is what are the options available and anything that we are working on. Presumably the fact that SABR Radars are on offer for older F16s means that a solution is possible and doable.

@Oscar I was hopping around with some folks, apparently the olefin coolants are not all that difficult to work with and don't require equipment that would take too much space, if your assertion about the JFs having an issue with space is true then it means that even its base design must be taking quite some load with all the additions, this is one issue with all fighters which fall under the light category, no real estate, except the vipers which started out quite light (in comparison to what it is today) but the muricans spent the requisite moolah to get it to work as well as it does with all the added weight.

Although I think a lot of posters don't seem to be appreciating the sheer impossibility of redesigning the radome or enlarging the dimensions at this stage. Reminds me of folks this side of the fence who want the Tejas to carry everything including the damn kitchen sink.
 
So the reason for refuelling probe behind the canopy not in front, is to spare the space for future AESA or already jam packed KLJ radar..
