I think we should accept reality and not make the JF17 more then it actually is, the main problem is money. I honestly wish back in the 90s the PAF would have ditched the JF17 for the J10, imagine what a 100 J10s in our inventory would do compared to 100 jf17s

There is no problem with jf17 ... if US have f15s then why they made f16s ? Every aircraft have its role ... jf17 is lightweight fighter to replace other light weights such as mirrages and f7s ... for medium weight category we already have f16s ... now the issue like past we were ditched by US and f16 numbers are freezed ... the actual planned no of f16 is 110 aircrafts ... what we really need is 110 f16s and two squadron of heavy twin engine for anti ship and deep strike missions ... jf17 is doing trumendously well even much better than originally planned

Agreed but thats the issue ... originally it should have been job of f16s as front line fighters ... you cant expect your second tier fighter to face the SAM threat ... had we been allowed the ammunitions with f16s we could have done this role ... but buying j10 means you have 2 mid weight aircraft which will result in trumendous increase in your operational cost ...

The point i m emphasizing it is not the failure of jf17 project but the failure of f16s project ...

Am Latif has made it clear in his interview that the JF17 program is not the 90's program---. He talked about his experience with the F16 as a top performer--and then as a project director of the JF17 program how he used his knowledge to utilize his experience---.

@The Accountant for the millionth time---the purpose of the J10 purchase would be to fill in the shortage of aircraft at a faster pace and not of 2 types of aircraft issues---even though they are there---.

You did not understand that concept in the past---.

I hope pakistani kids can understand this---wars start without any warnings---.

Just look at Modi---how much desperation he shows of not having the Rafales---.
