JF-17 Thunder performing during Dubai Air Show 2017

Center of gravity is center of gravity, you can shift it by design... but than you have new center of gravity!
Perhaps you meant its not intentionally kept at middle of the structure!

Yes, you are right, it is intentionally not kept in the middle of the structure.

Let me try a more relaxed wording: a plane may be designed, originally, with a centre of gravity located so that it is aerodynamically stable. In order to make it more manoeuvreable, we may then shift the centre of gravity further back, by, for instance, increasing the weight of the rear section by a few kgs. With this modification, the aircraft is now dynamically unstable.

If I make a Plane of paper with same parameters .. Would it fly right to the person's face I want to throw on?
Or Would it cross the border easily and named as Spy plane ??

No the issue is not that if JF-17 can do the vertical loop or not because you are right that T-37s can also do a loop as the sherdils have shown...the issue is to do this in a very tight radius. The sherdils and T-37s go very high up 2-3K ft whereas F16 can close the loop in a very tight envelope...that is also what Tejas show. This is a critical aspect of any fighter that needs to be demonstrated..so why aren't they showing it? Is it because it cannot do this as well as the F-16? I am thinking unfortunately that may be the answer. Also I have seen all videos of Jf-17 including the ones from Karachi but there is no vertical loop. There are manuevres more like the Cuban 8 but that is not really a loop as the aircraft breaks the loop as it heads down. Can any expert who has any inside knowledge comment on this?

I did not see any air craft in DAS do verticle loops... can u see the displays and point to right part??? May be we missing some thing

It defeats the purpose when you take a plane all the way to Airshow , and then you do the whole prep up of plane , pick the best pilot and routine is planned.

But when the actual Video demo starts on Internet or TV station the commentary of the fighter Jet , the folks are just not really aware of what the plane is capable of doing

Apart from the one mention of Thrust of the engines , not much came out on technical capabilities of the plane. They talked about the Seat manufactured in UK. Yes Russians were involved in engine

  • The commentary could have focused on Total Numbers in Production
  • The focus could have been on Hours logged by plane in Real Anti Terror missions
  • The focus could have gone to Recent addition of Twin Seat Variant
  • They could have talked about Various planned blocks for the plane
  • Could have talked about active Role at Peak of Himalayas and various climates
  • Finally the big ticket items BVR missiles and Weapons load & radar
  • Air to Air refuel functionality :coffee:
  • If you are showing a complex Engineered machinery like JF17 Thunder you really have to showcase it's potential

The two folks in charge of introducing the plane did not appear to know much about the plane. The appeared to know how the plane will turn or what maneuver it will perform next

Its a fighter plane not Suzuki 800, the folks you are talking about only see the show they get information ist hand form the crew at the stall.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh Suzuki Mehran.............. The VW Beetle of the East

first of all that is blasphemous against Suzuki Mehran.... secondly Pakistan aims to match the Suzuki Mehran sales numbers with JF 17.

That would be an achievement, indeed.

well the thing is designed to target an emerging market of great potential.
we are for the first time using our marketing DNA string lol
its a massive achievement for the country and has really set off a waterfall effect.
Alhumdulilah i am satisfied that it has a certain edge over its competitors.

I think the potential market for such a fighter was estimated at several hundreds of sales, at least, in one of the thread here, and perhaps even more.

i cant speculate on that. the potential however is there for several hundred sales without a shadow of doubt but i think unit sales alone is not the target right now for the JF 17..

the bird can fly and with easy to modernize it is going to stay in the market for good. the machine speaks for itself as observers have noticed.

As China builds up its influence in the world in the coming years, the number of potential clients for the joint venture excellent aircraft can only go up and up.

Lots of potential out there to be serviced. Chinese numbers may help tremendously.
