USAF standard for the -16 is AMRAAMS on the wingtip. Same standard is followed by NATO allies as well. So theoretically, the -16 can hold 6 AMRAAMS. But since its probably the best and most maneuverable dog fighter out there, it does and will carry two SRAAMs with 2-4 AMRAAMs.

Same thing with the JFT. If the radar and the avionics supporting larger BVR payloads, you could put 6 BVR missiles on it. That's a hell of a payload. But you'll need AESA to use such a large payload to multi-target enemy jets.

F-35 is stealth, it doesn't need to dodge the enemy if it isn't seen by one, plus F-35 will engage from long distances with high tech weaponry which would guarantee utmost precision and efficiency, rendering dog fighting useless, in short an F-16 would be shot down before the pilot can even say "I have been locked on".
Stealth does not indicate it is invisible to the Human Eye...It only indicates that on radar it is not spotted easily.

F-16s is able to land without a dragshoot. Is that just because of airbrakes or does it also have wheel breaks which do the job?

Hi,

Here is the thing-----the opponent pilot will be able to see the F 35 / F 22 visually---but his electronics will be blind---he will not be getting a lock on anything but that anything is right in front of his eyes.

I always say----if someone is down playing the leading U S weapons system----then---please put your hands on your behind and run far away from the scene as fast as you can.
If hightech weapons fail then go low tech.. In case of visual old gun site would work as the best weapon of choice provided the aircraft remains on F-35's six.

The newer versions of F-16s do incorporate a drag chute, however the underside shape of the F-16 also acts as a brake hence it keeps it's nose up longer after landing.

Actually, F-16s have 4 surfaces as well....operated by two actuators.......one for each pair of airbrakes. Pretty innovative and neat design that is.

JF-17 can land and slow down without using Drag chute, it will just take longer to come to a stop and your will wear out the brakes quicker.

KLJ-7 Airborne Radar
The KLJ-7 is an X-band airborne fire-control radar (FCR) uses a mechanically-steered slotted array antenna. The KLJ-7 has multiple modes, both beyond-visual-range (BVR) and close-in air-to-air modes, ground surveillance modes and a robust anti-jamming capability. The radar can reportedly manage up to 40 targets, monitor up to 10 of them in track-while-scan (TWS) mode and simultaneously fire on two BVR targets.
