MARRAKECH: A JF-17 Business Division team led by Pakistan Air Force, Air Vice Marshall Arshad Mehmood Malik held an impressive presentation of the equipment and services offered by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) at the International Air Show being held at the Menara Air Force base here today. This was the first presentation by the team in Africa and was arranged by the Embassy of Pakistan, Rabat. The JF-17 team is visiting Morocco on the invitation of Pakistan’s Ambassador to Morocco Nadir Chaudhry.

Fifty six countries are participating in the Air Show with forty Air Chiefs attending mostly from Africa and the Middle east providing Pakistan’s JF-17 vast exposure in the African continent for the first time.

In his comprehensive presentation entitled 'Cutting Edge Capabilities at Affordable Cost’ AVM Malik highlighted the products offered by the PAC including the JF-17 Thunder fighter jet, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and maintenance facilities particularly for Mirage fighter jets. The Embassy of Pakistan, Rabat had also arranged sideline meetings with industry professionals and air force officials from various countries for AVM Malik that were held over two days.

There was immense interest in the presentation evident from the fact that it was well attended by Ambassadors, Air Chiefs and Defense Attaches from various countries and a large number of aviation industry professionals and the international media. Gifts and impressive leather information folders arranged by the Embassy of Pakistan, Rabat were also distributed on the occasion in the presence of Ambassador Nadir Chaudhri and Defense Attache Brigadier Imran Mushtaq.

Africa was always the main target market that Pakistan hoped to capture, it's a surprise that it took so long to start campaigning there.

On the other hand, Nigeria is set to buy the thunder, so I guess that would be better advertisement.

Would we be getting some glimpses of Thunder during the show?

Sir it was the dual seater Thunder whose absence brought in delays. When it came to training the first question was about dual seater Thunder and somehow they were reluctant to employ Pakistan's method of training through simulators as it was quite a leap for them to take. So now dual seater in sight we can very well go ahead with sales in Africa esp.

On the other hand, Nigeria is set to buy the thunder, so I guess that would be better advertisement.
We had excessive military exchanges with Nigeria and they were in line and in comfort zone on what we were offering.

I m wondering why Nigeria did not buy Tejas.

On a serious note, this effort seems to be genuine and focused. As Nigeria has already bought JF-17, the platform looks more credible to African buyers.

So on one hand we're calling Africa our main market, but on the other hand we don't even bother taking a few aircraft there?

A humble request with all members, please don't make this thread another JF-17 vs Tejas trolling thread. :-)

AVM sahab should be fired from his current assignment along with the marketing team.
