What's new

JF-17 In Saudi Arabia

The guy in the Army out fit looks like a Saudi & the civilian dress guys looks like a Filipino.

.
The Antenna is pretty much the same, and so is the aircraft...its just the angle of the photo
the radio fit has not changed.
The Saudi's have enough money to buy the firepower of their Choice.
Their A2A interceptor is the F-15C
Their Strike/CAS aircraft is the F-15SA
and their Multirole component is the Saudifighter Typhoon.

The Thunder has no feature in their plans unless someone can convince a prince or two.

Completely agreed!

Interesting Windjammer , so what do you think the purpose maybe ?

The JF-17 has visited, UK, China, Turkey and Dubai but not the KSA, as far as it's known, the Saudis may want to take a close look at it, could be there for some manoeuvres, during it's display in Dubai, the English commentator did mention half a dozen countries showing potential interest in the Thunder. Let's wait and see.

the next best chance any other aircraft has is F-16 Block 52 or 60 but why when they got Typhoon with ToT.

indeed if they decide to raise an aggressor squadron of Jf-17s but that too is unlikely

As far as I remember, the stop over through to Franbrough was in Jordan & Turkey , NOT Saudi Arabia.

Anyway, If the pictures are indeed in Tabuk, that means the AC was there for a stopover nothing more.

Based on the briefing brochure given to him by the PAF officials present then.

The Saudi's really do not need any further aircraft, their mix is infact the most potent mix in the entire region.
Combining a proven and still very capable air superiority fighter, and its kin the legendary strike fighter. And then to fill in the niche of the general purpose all rounder they have the EF.. So as such there is no need for any further purchases..
But, it all depends on the Saud Princes and their whims.

Indeed they have enough money to purchase anything and everything, yet, the primitive Mushak did find some use in the all hi-tech set up. :)

good argument but look at the role.. they wont care even if its made in Bangladesh .. as long as it flies
anything would do for the job they are using Mashak which is just basic entry level training .

things start getting interesting as we move to their jets from British Hawks and onwards .
