What's new

JF-17 (2P29) arrives in Pakistan

PAF need to intregrate EJ-200 engine on 1 of jf-17
for future for next gen fighter

Congratulation on 2P29 Jet for PAF
  • I agree 100% that the refueling extension should be plug and play for special missions only
  • Like the 1 Seater JF17 thunder look n feel
  • 2 Seater ones while nice to have I feel these can wait

so the a darter then?
and perhaps a co developed version to give it the range of the mica
A Darter has been on the table for a long time, long before it was qualified. However, consider Denel Dynamics recent high profile goofs, and poor representatives such as Majid and Unigroup fighting over commission, increasing per unit cost to double of sale price, and no real technology integration partner. Once they solve this issue, they could make a sale, or others will.

That aside, i strongly suspect PAF will go for a HMD first prior to the WVRAAM HOBS TVC weapon. It is logical, and in line with the many discussions us old men have had with the Sohail Aman in various meetings. I think this Chief has a clear idea and priorities, and his team in PMO seems to have returned to the right track.

The primary purpose of JF17, air and sea defence, with BVR AA and AS engagements employing SD10 and C802, has been qualified. It is quite feasible that PAF shall consider a HMD and ATP (airborne targeting pod) prior to finalising the AAM in a open competition. The source of HMD is still unknown, while there has been a lot of discussion already on the ATP being ASELPOD due to their recent announcement of the first export order.

MK84 2000lb Mk83 1000kb and mk82 500lb under each wing /side

9 stations vs 7 station at 3:40 under intake

That is a Mk82, High Drag, then a Mk 82 Low Drag, and then a Mk 83 Low Drag. Where is the 84? The one in glasses on the stairs? Jokes aside, just because they are sitting there means they are integrated?

The 2 x Mk-84s are in the video
, right at the start, 17 seconds into the video.

Look closely, the bomb to the left (closest to the camera) we can see written "500l", then middle bomb has “*000 lbs“ (three zeros are visible ) written on it. Which makes it either a 1000lb or 2000lb on. However the 3Rd bomb is bigger than the 2nd, making it very likely that we are looking at Mk-82 next to a Mk-83 next to a Mk-84

you never let me be funny for a moment. You guys are too serious.

The station is rated for a C802, and Mk84. Mk 84 is used for penetrating command infrastructure and pens. Those are highly defended hence use of REKs. So, going back, the weapon employed would always be Mk83 class.

Dual Seat at the end of the year and Block III not before 2018

Read the post #1 carefully
I know, I did read it; but the thing is that some members are refuting some of the claims made in post #1 while some are making even more claims, so I was asking what is ACTUALLY the difference between this and the block 2?

when it says "arrives", does that mean the upgrades were done @ CAC/Avic ?

Hi,

HMD is a wonderful addition---but but has no advantage over a HOBS weapon---.

A HOBS addition is an ' Oh Shit " moment for the enemy---HMD is the helmet mounted display rather than the heads up display HUD.

1. ahh...... the bent ones. theres always one isnt there.

2. as for hmd's theres a few options out there. south africa, china and europe. but we have to wait for the block3 as its likely they will go for italian vinex aesa radars. im not sure if the italians have an hmd to offer. your current acm has also made it clear that he want the next gen bird to be as indeginous as possible so chances are that you may buy designs and develop it. thats unlikely though.

3. well a well known turkish news site has said its pakistan who getting the aselpod, so yeh the jf-17 is getting that then. all it need is intregating and qualifying.
if an open competition is held do you tink western vendors will be happy to supply the iris-t, asraam or even the aim-9x?

Even if AIM-9X is offered to us for JF-17 we still wouldn't buy.
