JF-17 (2P29) arrives in Pakistan

My question is for how long the JF-17 in this configuration can patrol the seas? Should be minimum 1.30 hrs or so.
With inflight refueling capability much longer.

Block 2, 29th Aircraft!!

This is the one with IFR probe. All Blk 2 will get the IFR capability eventually. It started with this plane however.

Strange the first picture in my first post is the same as the one from the post you quoted .

Hope that helped.

Aslamualikum Sir,

Why is JF-17 so dirty from the bally? Has this particular piece been under testing or is that usual level of grease/oil/smoke and which is acceptable at PAF ?

Part of the reason is the the angle of the ambient sunlight and the consequent need for under-exposure and shadow-lightening in this photo. Arsalan might know for sure on this point.

Most PAF planes are maintained spick-and-span. However, this model is clearly one of the over-worked Development Testing & Evaluation planes as it is sporting a weapons load validation payload here and not an operational one. BilalKhan777 might know more here.

In simpler terms, #1 photo taken is such a way that the dirt is amplified, #2 plane is one of the models flown a lot for testing all sorts of weapons and not one of the squadron planes that are polished 23 hours and 15 minutes a day.

Please note I did not take the picture and have no reasons for my speculations above beyond my own experience.

Thank you for the question.

Hifz u kum Allah
