What's new

Jerusalem was conquered from the Ottomans 98 years ago today!

By the way the Irgun was a Jewish terrorist organisation that targeted both Arab and British in Mandate Palestine

They used sucide bombings and targeted soft targets like cafes, hotels and cinemas

Just a reminder lest this detail of history gets brushed under

Well looks like you have read your history. The British Raj armies recruited primarily Punjabi and Pashtuns. All the Pashtuns were from Pakistan province called today Khyber Pakhtunkwa ( formerly NWFP ) and about half of Punjabi were from the Punjab (West ) in Pakistan and were of course Muslim. The other half from Punjab (East ) is in India today and were Sikhs.

The fact is overwhelming numbers of British Indian Army were recruited from a tiny corner ( North West ) India. I am not going to go into the reasons here. Names of regiments gave away their orgins - Frontier ( Pashtun Muslims ), Punjab ( many Punjabi Muslims ) or Baloch mix of both. These regiments now form the Pakistan Army.

And some more knowledge for you

In the aftermath of the Indian Rebellion of 1857, also historically known as the Indian Mutiny, the three armies of the former Presidencies of the East India Company passed to the British crown. After the mutiny, recruitment switched to what the British called the "martial races," particularly Sikhs, Awans, Gakhars, and other Punjabi Mussulmans, Baloch, Pashtuns, Marathas, Bunts, Nairs, Rajputs, Yadavs, Kumaonis, Gurkhas, Garhwalis, Mohyals, Dogras, Jats and Sainis.

LOL That was over 65 years ago. and it was also because we didn't give Israel a state it desired/needed just because we wanted to appease some ungrateful Muslim/Arab nations. The Israeli were merely fighting for a right to their own state which our leaders failed to deliver for obvious reasons of appeasement. It shouldn't have been the case. Its like you are asking me to hate/despise Pakistan/India because they might have revolted/killed some British soldiers during our rule of India/Pakistan before we finally gave you independence. LOL That's just childish:P

.
I assure you no muslim from Pak Punjab joined it...many left for Turkey on horseback -
If you don't want to honor your ancestors that's your business. Does that also give you the right to fib to yourself about what they did?

I have met people in Pak, who served in Italy , Burma, but i once again can assure you no unit from West Punjab joined -
Who served in World War One? Really?

The Jews didn't capture Jerusalum , they stole it

Much later after the First World War , by the end of the second in 1948 , the British empire was crumbling so Ben Gurion declared unilaterally the creation of Israel after buying land from the Arabs , the Arabs sold the lands not so a new state could be made out of it
Make up your mind: both "stole" and "bought" cannot be true at the same time for the same thing.

As for what the lands the Jews bought were for: Sevres and the League of Nations' Mandate made it quite clear that this was to become the Jewish National Home. It didn't have to be statehood - not until the attacks of the Arabs and the abandonment of the Mandate by the British left no other choice.

Imagine if someone buys 1000 acre land in some country and the declares it to be a new state
He bought the land but is still subject to the sovereign entity. He has civil and property rights, not his own sovereign political rights.

It was sovereign political rights that Sevres and the League specifically denied the Arabs of Palestine - because they were not (and themselves claimed they were not) a national identity and the Ottoman Empire, like the Russian and Austro-Hungarian empires, were being separated into nation-states. The Jews got ~1% of the former Empire beyond Anatolia and the Arabs the rest. Nevertheless, the Brits hacked off 70% of Mandate Palestine to serve as an additional political entity for the Arabs, who promptly expelled the Jews without compensation - heinous acts that only whetted evil appetites even further.

...not quite the hurrah for the land thieves either who are now spinning stories just to be seen as a legitamte entity
Transjordan (later Jordan) was accepted as a legitimate entity but the territory West of the Jordan River it occupied from 1947-67 was not recognized as such. It was last recognized as belonging to Mandate Palestine and is the legal basis for Jews to continue settling its "state" lands at will and private lands via purchase.
