All of China's neighbors are distrustful of China as well. They are trying to claim an entire sea, not to mention remote islands and other lands just because some colonialists who occupied you also occupied those lands in some past centuries!

On a more serious note-

Rapid rise of a nation always causes problems for existing power equations.

Europe grappled with the "German problem" and the issue ended in war......History has shown that rapidly rising powers cannot be accommodated and war comes sooner or later.

China is Asia's Germany....

And war comes not when the growing power is ascending, but only when its past its peak -- that is when it realises that its advantage is reducing and time is slipping away. China is already past its peak... which is the reason why it will be increasingly aggressive in the years to come....

US will contain China through nuclear armed nations... and a few conventional ones. Japan is virtually a nuclear power...just a screw driver turn away.

Pakistan is being pushed to dismemberment so that India is free on its west side.....expect massive tech transfer from western world to India in future.

Question is whether China will reconcile to co-existence or try to break out through war.
