Japan Says Will Release Sanction List of Russian Citizens and Companies Soon

MOSCOW, July 28 (RIA Novosti) – Japan is expected to release a list of individuals and companies, against which sanctions will be imposed over the crisis in Ukraine, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Monday at a press conference.

“Given the situation in Ukraine, we introduce new sanctions. Firstly, the assets of people involved in Crimea annexation and responsible for destabilizing the situation in Ukraine will be frozen. Secondly, our country will implement its new projects in Russia in accordance with the policy of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as the European Union does. Thirdly, since Japan does not acknowledge Crimea as part of Russia, there will be limitations on the goods imported from Crimea,” Suga said.

Suga added that all formalities to implement these measures would be settled shortly. The sanctions that Japan is planning to impose had been approved by Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe prior to his trip to South America.

After the Malaysia Airlines plane crash in Ukraine, the United States and the EU members began considering tougher sanctions against Russia.

Japan said it was important to make this step together with other members of G7, which is why the announcement of the sanctions came four days later then they were approved by the prime minister.

Up until recently Japan’s position concerning Russia was far from stern, and there was a positive dynamic in Japan-Russia relations.

Earlier on, the majority of the directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development said it was not possible to make new investments in Russia in the nearest future.

LOL, we've posted gains for 4 straight months, and went from a -% growth to +% growth , Japan has the most posted job growth since the 1990s, and corporate taxes are reducing. We are actually, despite conservative estimation from the BOJ, in a state of contented growth. I'm even seriously considering going back to Japan after i finish my Ph.D. here in the 'states.

My oh my, my dear Monsieur. Have you already forgotten the Marshall Plan, which the United States implemented for European Recovery after the last war? Or has France truly been bereft of appreciation for the post-war reconstruction of France and other key allied partners. Hmm, pray i wonder.

Japan is closely aligned with the United States. We are verily much intertwined, since we own a considerable amount of American debt, as well as enjoy a substantial bilateral trade. Im surprised by your vehemence towards the United States, and the West. Considering you supposedly being a Frenchman and from France. Or perhaps, are you French-Chinese with residual nationalism?

For one, I am in the United States. I live here, i like it. Both Japan and the United States share a great many things in common. Thus my positive view towards America, and American people.
