@Nihonjin1051 and our my fellows Chinese brothers, what you think that we should all drop the call such "Chinese new year". Japanese new year, Korean new year and Vietnamese new years but make universal one for all north east Asians,
I never heard Western people call "American christmas" or French Christmas.

Chinese continue to call it Chinese new year. All others call it lunar new year.

Or perhaps call it 'East asian unified new year of the lunar celestial cycle for Cinese, Korean, Japanese, Mongolian and delinquent Vietnamese peoples of peace and prosperity.'

Indeed, it is unique -- the relations between China with Japan, Korea, and Viet Nam. Despite minor political squabbles , all are deeply Confucian societies with historical relations. I have always been in favor of Viet Nam's integration with East Asia as they are far more closer to us than the rest of....Southeast Asia.

Hahahaha, cute. Until i read the delinquent part. Perhaps a more inclusive one would be:

' Heavenly Celestial Lunar Cycle of the Great East Asian Peoples of China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Viet Nam and Singapore'

To understand Chinese Lunar New Year, is to understand cultural colloquialism. The adoptation of The Lunar New Year and the cultural practice of unique dances associated with it --- such as the Lion Dance --- actually is unique. The Lion Dance and even the costumes --- change and differ from country to country (China, Japan, Korea, Viet Nam, Mongolia), but its interesting that even in each country --- the regalia and outfits also differ according to region from region.

Let me show you guys how the Lion Dance and the costume of the Japanese Lion differs from region to region:
