What's new

Japan plans to replace 100 F-15Js with 100 F-35As

China has no ship of those classes.
They may ask France for Mistral -class.

I think Japan should think about put more oversea bases.

These are genius

Admiral Togo --- was a genius in his time. He was the brain responsible for the Imperial Navy's extermination of the Russian Baltic Fleet.

Here's a better picture of Admiral Togo Heihachiro, he was a young Admiral during the Russo-Japanese War:

These 3 light carriers provided us the ability to experiment on carrier designs. Next, we plan to build something similar to a Supercarrier class. As large as the Nimitz Class.

:)

Japan Imperial Navy is the only navy that is able to confront USA. In a hypothetical scenario of Japan Imperial Navy against the UK navy (the most powerful navy in Europe) during WW2, the UK navy will lost her pants.

If you guys are able to pack F35B in your "chopper carrier" today, Japan will be the 2nd most powerful navy in the world.

We don't yearn to be ranked , we just want to have the capability to defend Japan's vast maritime domain. As an archipelago of almost 7,000 islands, and with territories that are deep in the Western Pacific, our Light Carriers are imperative for JSDF's ability to reach any where within Japanese Territory.

As a vast Archipelagic state, Japan cannot afford to remain insular.

Lux, when you have very little knowledge about the modern navy, then please refrain to make too much noise.

Today's Japan is nowhere close to the position of the 2nd most powerful modern navy.

These rankings are just mouthpieces. We just want to develop our navy silently and without being compared to nation a, b, c ...et al.

Of course it is not. F35 B is still not there yet. You should read more carefully.

Btw, you know that JCG and CCG are starting to cooperate in joint patrols. As per our new agreement(s). One day I hope to see PLAN and JMSDF do joint exercises together. :)

For now, it is not plausible.

However, Japan's new naval expansion will provide us a good excuse to hike our military expenditure.

Our leaders were still too shy, but now they will have a good reason to speed up our navy development.

That means you consider a raising Japanese Navy as a new threat ?

Even with the F-35B, Japan is still nowhere close to the 2nd most powerful navy.

You forgot about the underwater, this is something much more crucial than the chopper carrier with vertical landing aircrafts.

Japan has been left behind for 60 years, so no way she can catch the P5 nations in this domain during a short period.

Is it just another Beiyang navy that is more powerful than Japan Imperial navy then?

Japan anti sub no1 in the world.

It would be good just to concentrate on the topic instead of going into dick measuring. :coffee:

No doubt China & Japan are at odds per territory claim, but we are not motal enemies hell bend on killing each other like those mid-east shit fellows.
