The decline is still slow. I dont see a big deal. Advance countries all need to deal with low birth rate.
It's a slow poison with no apparent cure.
At current rates, by 2060, Japan’s population will be one-third smaller than it is now and 40 percent of its citizens will be older than 65
However take the effect to a period of 40 years and the difference is huge; a population decline of more than 30%. Even during WW2 Japan's population only declined by around 1.5%.
But even 40 years is a blink of an eye when we look at a country's history in the long term. The average human lifespan is already 70 years.
Almost all developed countries today will face population declines by 2100 while human population will be driven by extremely poor countries. It's indeed a huge problem.
As long as they don't run out of ladies I am fine with it.
