For the past 2000 years they have dominated Asia-Pacific politically, economically and culturally, but now they cannot accept the fact that in contemporary times, there are others countries that, while small in size, has a large economy and a strong soft power culture. Times have change and while old concepts such as hegemony still exist, the fact is that there are now two powers in Asia-Pacific, yet China prefers to be the only superpower in this region.

Hell, some people here even make light jokes or "humorous" comments about Japan and nuclear weapons.
