January 2022: Hamid Mir Predicted Imran Khan's No Confidence Motion Issue

The conspiracy to remove IK was finalized, last year and then the process was initiated by changing DG(ISI), without consent of IK. Things started rolling after that. The Letter is mere confirmation of the said conspiracy.

.
The following video, which has English captions, is a blast from the past and has eerie resemblances with the current conspiracy theory about the alleged US involvement to topple the Imran Khan govt. The video shows a conspiracy theory where America toppled another very popular Prime Minister of Pakistan: Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Like Imran, Bhutto was hugely popular, charismatic and had support in many parts of Pakistan. Like Imran, Zulfi also tried to bring the Islamic countries together etc etc. To this day, the PPP cadre and many Pakistanis believe that Zulfi was toppled by Americans because of Pakistan's nuclear program. The following video shows that the trend to accuse a foreign power for Pakistan's own political failings continues.

If you follow closely, what this video shows are circumstantial evidence of American involvement, just like in case of Imran Khan. Some diplomats using undiplomatic language or the alleged Kissinger quote of 'make a horrible example of you [Bhutto]' don't translate into a CIA coup to the levels like CIA has done multiple times in various countries. It is probably correct to say that Americans wanted Bhutto out then and Americans wanted Imran out now. BTW, it would be shameful for Pakistan to have a system were mere diplomatic screwups by Americans would topple popular govts--and I have no hesitation in saying that Imran Khan is the most popular person in Pakistan.

What happened in the 1970s against Bhutto is what's happening now: A United Opposition found enough traction to topple a govt! Imran Khan was lacking in numbers in the National Assembly and even he himself saying that he had to constantly please his coalition partners because he was on a shaky ground. This whole drama Pakistan's domestic political failure. In the 1970s, Bhutto's PPP did rigging in some constituencies during the elections and that galvanized the 9-Party Opposition alliance (PNA) and, just like events around the 1971 elections, things went out of hand and Martial Law was imposed by Zia. Same is the case here: When the Establishment decided to stay neutral--after propping up Imran to power--the Opposition finally had an opening and they have seized the moment. If you read the Hamid Mir article above, you will see that not long ago Imran was able to suppress the opposition with the Establishment's help. That help stopped coming after sometime August 2021-- with perhaps related to the Fall of Kabul and internal changes in Pakistani Establishment. History will reveal exactly what happened then.

By the way, the American plot to overthrow Bhutto with the purpose to prevent the Pakistani nuclear program failed--Pakistan still acquired the nukes! So much so for the conspiracy theories about that!! Just like this BS from Imran Khan of 'Absolutely Not' as the cause is just a BS: No bases to be given to America because that decision would be made by the Pakistani Army anyway. But shameful chest thumping is going on over a meaningless interview given to an American journalist!! BTW, if CIA wanted to topple Bhutto and replace him with Zia then don't forget that sanctions were imposed on Pakistan and Zia remained a pariah until the early 1980s when the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan helped him out.

Anyway, here is the video:

Was wondering when memes like this would start popping up.

Hamid Mir is unpopular in PDF. But how is his shows rating in Pakistan?

I don't know much about Hamid Mir--and I don't care as long as journalists are not too biased. It does appear that Hamid Mir is anti Imran but the quoted article is spot on and what he most carefully predicted months ago has come true.

PDF is a bubble of its own. When the Establishment supported Imran Khan then it was good. When the support stopped, then the sky is falling. When the Supreme Court of Pakistan kicked out a sitting PPP Prime Minister barely a decade ago then the Supreme Court was great. Blind party line support does not reflect well on people. It is the country that should matter. And to me Pakistan would be worse off such blatantly illegal actions by Imran Khan were to go unchallenged and that too based on flimsy ground while at the same time jeopardizing Pakistan's economic interests. You are an Indian and you should have cheered if Pakistan were to face even 1/10th of the economic sanctions as put on Russia these days.

And the saddest part of all this drama is: Imran didn't even have to do these illegal actions. He would have won anyway after losing the NCM. Look at his popularity now?? But his ego, just Bhutto's, got the better of him.

I think NCM was in the pipeline since last year and PDM could have been successful if PPP didn’t back out last time

The lettergate is a good story to sell the public and it is being sold and wildly accepted among the masses so PTI will reap the benefit of it.. in reality however it is not a big news as I don’t believe there was a foreign conspiracy in it

Correct. PPP was sitting cozy in Sindh, making money, and NCM would bring potential instability which could jeopardize its money making machine in Sindh. The talks of an NCM has been circulating for a long time but as one of Imran's supporters, the analyst Haroon Rashid had been saying, no chance of success because the Establishment was behind Imran Khan. But that support, of course, changed. When and why, I don't know but I suspect in late 2021.

PS. PPP might still lose Sindh--it is a gamble they have taken and there is no surety how the political winds will blow in Pakistan. Imran Khan is roaring to popularity levels I have not seen in decades.

Yes, PDF seems to have lopsided support for Imran. Next election will show if he is indeed that popular with the electorate in Pakistan.

I've seen Hamid Mir in some Indian news shows in the past. Seems like he is a guy that wants to promote peace in LoC. So interested to know if someone with that disposition has any popularity in Pakistani households.

You ate referencing Washington Post. Hamid Mir can't speak two sentences of English fluently. That article is eau above than his low intellect. We all know who wrote it. It's HH

Who takes this rat seriously? He has been predicting IK's ouster or No Confidence since 2018.

He is no one, just some random "wanna-be-famous" scum.

Hamid Mir might be anti-Imran but what he is saying is sort of being confirmed by the PTI supporters themselves by cursing the Establishment for Imran Khan's fall from power!

The position of the current PMLN govt might not be as rigid against India but PMLN is certainly not stupid enough to cross some lines which are drawn by the Establishment of Pakistan.
Here is Mushahid Hussein Sayad--a PMLN stalwart--clearly saying that Pakistan can't compromise on its core Kashmir demands regardless of who is the leader. But the PDF PTI fanbois are so blind that to them everyone is traitor! Sometimes people need to reflect upon their thought processes and question whether they are putting their Dear Leader above the country they profess to love.

As I have been saying on this forum, the split between Imran and the Establishment had started after August 2021--probably related to the Fall of Kabul on 15 August 2021 to the Taliban. And as the OP Hamid Mir article from January 2022 says, if the ISI Chief was going to be 'neutral' then big problem for Imran Khan in 2022; per that article, the ISI had helped Imran curb down the Opposition forces before.

Here is a video from about 6 months ago and touches upon Imran's growing divide with the Establishment.
