Yes Hindi and English are official languages because they are spoken/understood by majority of the people in the country and act as a link language. When a Gujrati has to speak to a bengali they will use Hindi/English. But this does not mean that they are abandoning their own language and culture.
Why is that only Tamils fear this "invasion" of Hindi
Where is the IT hub of Tamil Nadu as compared to Bangalore/Hyderabad?
The rise of automobile industry in TN is because it is a manufacturing industry. It does not require specialised labour as done by IT industry. You can have that industry without the knowledge of global language like English or country wide link language like Hindi. So it faces no problem if people only know tamil.
because of repeated defeats to foreign powers northies dont have sense of pride.. we tamils have rich history of military victories across seas and we are also one of the best performing states presently so we want equal rights if not we are happy to walk out of the union.
Pakistan and north india are having high fertility rate so obvously there are more indi/urdu speakers but tamil is official in singapore srilanka while bimaru hindi is spoken in pakistan and north india (not a proud thing)
