What's new

Jan 1 2014: Hong Kong Rises - Thousands march against Chinese government.

In a democratic system he doesn't need to satisfy everyone in China, he can be re-elected again if majority is satisfied. The issue is, Without a democratic system you have no option to remove a bad leader, at least not without a considerable bloodshed.

That because you don't understand about China Model.

In democratic country, you are depending on individual ability of a person, that the people elected him in public election. Hoping that he will bring changes in the country, fulfilling electors hope and demands.

In China Model, it's a giant political machine, where government officials are just a component of the machine. It's the machine that work for the people and fulfilling people hope and demands. A president in democratic country has more power than a president in China, because Chinese president is bound to the machine, he can't make self-decision. Electing a president in China is useless.

The result as we can already see in the race between India vs China. India, like Taiwan, we keep electing and waiting, that one day we elected the right person. The problem is, the right person never come. While China is growing very fast, although today is a bit of sick.

Only thousand? Far below my estimation.

Central government has the final decision right to appoint Hong Kong leader.

US fail to gather more people.

US should take more time in the preparation.

These same people did not say a word when the British sent them governors without any of their consent, yet they want "democracy" now. They never had it during the British colonial era. At least today they got to elect most of their legislators, a huge improvement over the old times. Hong Kong is also an experimental ground for future political reforms in China. As with all experiments, it has a chance of failing. In Hong Kong's case, it has already failed.

In short, Hong Kong is doomed to return to its original status, an unremarkable fishing village.

The democracy movement in HK is US organized.

It just so stupid that HK people don't realized that they are being toyed and manipulated for US gain.

HK is like a trojan horse for China, it's an entry point where US can enter to control the political situation in China. You will see a lot of political party in HK have a deep connection with US.

That is the fact about democracy.

CCP will allow you vote for favored leader, the premium is he must be loyal to China at first. Mind your words, the national security is keeping eyes on you. You can't sacrifice the benefit of the whole country for your own interest. You are just a part of PRC, get used to it.

Singapore is led by lee kuan yew family all these year, where is the Democracy coming from? Don't be naive man, look straight up to the reality.

Or it could be a huge disaster for China? look at Egypt, Lybria and Ukraine, 'Democracy 'at the most.

China need to have a very extensive check on any political party and political activists in HK from the connection with foreign country. To prevent HK being sold out by traitorous political party.

And China also need to launch an investigation to HK local media from any connection with foreign intel agency and foreign media who had connection with foreign intel agency. It's a right for China to defend HK sovereignty from foreign control.

China didn't do their homework, and now is suffering, because foreign country now control the people opinion in HK.

The news' title is misleading, standing against the CCP is only ONE of the topics of the whole march. There were even people supporting the Hong Kong government and asked those public servants to stay strong and punish those so-called "freedom fighters".

.
It's only natural for people to want to choose their own leader and government. Who would want to live under a dictator?

The people should decide what their government does, not the other way around.

Chosen by the people:

They were not heads of the Hong Kong government. They were simple representatives in Hong Kong of the British Crown.

Then who were the heads of the Hong Kong government? and why weren't they given the freedom to elect their own "representatives in Hong Kong of the British Crown"?

If that's what you call "democracy" then it is no different to "dictatorship" and it is "hypocrisy" at best.

At the end of the day, the people of Hong Kong currently have democracy and they want to keep it. They don't want to be part of a 1 party communist dictatorship.

the Central government also wants to keep it the same mode of political system as it is or to run HK according to the basic law. PRC is a consultative government albeit it is a one-party-rule country.

They were not heads of the Hong Kong government. They were simple representatives in Hong Kong of the British Crown.

They were not elected by the people of HK then. Asolute dictatorship and massive colonial rip-off!

At the end of the day, the people of Hong Kong currently have democracy and they want to keep it.

They still have the same democracy they got given since 160+ years ago. We simply replaced having a white guy representing the British crown with a Hong Konger representing the Chinese flag. Hence the 'One country, two systems'.

They don't want to be part of a 1 party communist dictatorship.

Who is "they"?

Fortunately, you have no say on their affairs as you are not a citizen of Hong Kong or China.

Hong Kong has historically been a small fishing village, and only rose to prominence in the 1960's due to China isolating itself. During that time, Hong Kong served as a window to China with huge volume of trade traffic going through. The secondary boost was in the 1980's and 1990's, when China began to open its doors to investors. Hong Kong businesses were some of the first to invest, and got favourable terms.

However, as the other cities in China slow rose to the top, Hong Kong's importance has decreased. When China opened its doors, investors no longer need to climb the window. Hong Kong will continue to slip in terms of economic and political importance, but some people in Hong Kong do not realize this. They think it was because the return to China that they started going downhill. So they started attention whoring, thinking it's going to get them somewhere.

These same people did not say a word when the British sent them governors without any of their consent, yet they want "democracy" now. They never had it during the British colonial era. At least today they got to elect most of their legislators, a huge improvement over the old times. Hong Kong is also an experimental ground for future political reforms in China. And remember to mention the fact that alot of Hong Kongers are of Hakka and Teochew origin, while most Cantonese are in fact mainlanders (for dumb idiot trolls saying things about "Nanyue Hong Kong Cantonese vs Mandarin speaking mainlanders").

So you KMT guys are looking for another war with CPC?

Go ahead, i hope CPC will exterminate your kind this time.

Sonyuke is either born in Thailand or from the mainland and moved to Thailand. He is not from Taiwan because he doesn't know jack **** about KMT policy and views.

He keeps talking about banning "foreign religions" and talking about "restore China to Han", and support "democracy". As I said, first of all, KMT has same affirmative action like the CCP, the KMT funded the building of the Taipei Grand Mosque, the KMT promotes Mongolian and Tibetan culture and languages through the MTAC, and the KMT, if anyone who knows basic history about Taiwan, was NOT a fan of democracy.

Alot of these people claiming to be KMT supporters are in fact anti-CCP people born in the mainland and-

1. Don't know anything about KMT ideology, policy, and views

2. Never been to Taiwan

3. Never met someone from Taiwan in their life.

Before HK became a colonial part of the British Empire, there was no distinction between mainlanders and HK people. We all belong to the Han race period.

KMT is either clueless or too afraid of their US master.

They even stole China's DF-31 blueprint, this is unforgivable. We simply can't stand with this party.
