Srinagar: Pakistan violated ceasefire yet again on Monday along the Line of Control in the Uri sector. An Indian Army Junior Commissioned Officer was killed in the firing by Pakistani troops. The Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service has been suspended for Monday following the incident. The Army is ascertaining if it was a ceasefire violation or an attack by terrorists or infiltrators. This came just two days after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister expressed hope that calm will prevail along the LoC as no ceasefire violations had been reported on Saturday. Over 130 ceasefire violations have been reported so far this year, the highest in the past eight years. Since October 14, the ceasefire violations have left three Army personnel dead and caused injuries to 18 people. (With additional information from PTI)

New Delhi: Pakistan troops once again violated the ceasefire on Monday and fired at the Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector killing one Indian Army officer.

The firing took place at a post on the LoC in which a Junior Commission Officer (JCO) was killed.

The recent offensive took place even as a flag meeting between the two countries is expected to take place today in a bid to defuse tension on the border.

The BSF had earlier tried to hold a flag meeting on October 18 and October 20 with Pakistani rangers. However, the Pakistani officials did not turn up for the meeting.

Regular firing and shelling have been taking place along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) forcing villagers to flee the area.

The firing took place after a quite Sunday when no reports of shooting or shelling across the border.

Over 130 ceasefire violations have been reported so far this year, the highest in the past eight years.

RIP.......

What is IA and MoD doing about it. You just let it go by saying it might be done by "Militants". Its responcibility of Pak to restrict such activities on its side. IA must take some serious action.

I see lots of hyporicy in those RIP, you guys are enemy. Come on guys, it's a just a death in confrontation. Quite normal in my perspective, people die in war. If you wanna deliver RIP, kill your enemy as well. What the hell happen here?

If you don't accept casualty, sign a peace pact and quit. Don't act like crying baby. This is the real jungle called earth.

We shall not exclude any possibility that the shot was taken by terrorist who wanna provoke the tension between India and Pakistan.
