Dhaka, Jan 19 (bdnews24.com) – Claiming the country is passing through a critical situation, the BNP chairperson has called for a united movement to protect it.

Speaking at a discussion at the auditorium of Institution of Engineers in the city on Thursday, Khaleda Zia called upon teachers to join BNP's agitation to save the country from crisis: "You all should join the March 12 grand rally in Dhaka."

The discussion was organised by Teachers-Employees Oikya Jote to mark the 76th birth anniversary of late president and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.

"Many skilled teachers are falling prey to spiteful partisanship and losing their jobs. Governing committees of non-government educational institutions have been handed over to the unskilled party-members," she said.

Khaleda assured the non-government teachers and employees of giving them government benefits if her party wins the next parliamentary elections.

A special prayer was also offered at the discussion wishing eternal peace for the soul of Ziaur.

The former prime minister listed successes of her party's government during 2001 and 2006 in the education sector.

She recounted her government's contribution to the progress of womenfolk in education, introduction of stipend-based vocational courses, establishment of non-government teachers' registration institution, providing cent-per-cent salaries of the non-government teachers from the public exchequer, formation of teachers employees welfare trust, introduction of retirement allowance and infrastructural development of schools and colleges.

Claiming that the country's economy is experiencing meltdown, she said the teachers and employees with lesser salaries are finding the going really tough.

I am just worried about all the Back door deals the BAL did with INDIA. If inshallah BNP comes back
to power they will have to first cleanse the administration of RAW & awami agents and then have to take on those deals done by BAL. this BAL gov is a curse
on our nation.:hitwall: Why the hell WE of all people in this world ended up with awami league.

.
Looks like another coalition government will lead BD in the future, right now BNP street level leaders are all in Jail, also top level politicians are in Jail or coming in and out of jail on fake cases. BNP is in serious crisis and are crippled.

.
What Bangladesh needs now is just to keep  peace with India until 2050. They will apparently get tit for tat sooner or later.
